Thanks guys, he’s all fixed up and home now 🙂 Thanks to our amazing NHS 💙 he had the op yesterday and came out the same night. He’s in a lot of pain, but is being waited on so it’s not all bad!

Yes greent, I do love a seasonal duvet set 😂 , however please note this in no way makes me organised, more childish really 😆

Scary mortgage interest mortgage rate predictions today in the news, time to send off the paperwork for renewal. I’m going for a fee free 4.01% fixed 5year offset, we could get cheaper but I want to leave the term very long (it’s 18y 4 months at renewal) but still op by a lot so it can only be offset. I Was going to go three years and try and blast it, however in the current climate it seems wise to go for 5year as it’s actually the same rate and if we finish early I can leave a few pounds so avoid any redemption penalties, if we don’t it gives us a  safety net for longer if rates have rocketed. If they don’t it’s not too crazy a premium to pay for peace of mind.

I’m also a bit worried about dhs job security (again 🙄) but I don’t think I can live the rest of our lives waiting for everything to implode financially, we have been living like that a long time and I think the what ifs can hold us back. Lockdown has made me more carefree in that way at least 😁  so I’m doing what I can but not panicking and cancelling things just yet!

Glad that DS has been looked after. Sounds like a horrible injury.

I love the sound of your furniture. You must be pleased with it!

Sorry to hear about dhs job insecurity. I think you're doing the right thing in bring a bit careful but not overboard.

Hi Greent and KP 😊 he’s doing ok but is about to run out of the strong painkillers, he will ring the GP and hope he can have a few more today. Found him asleep sitting up yesterday on the sofa with a sleeping rat on his shoulder so he has company at least!

The bedroom furniture looks ok, still waiting for the drawer knobs to arrive, only putting posh (sale) animal ones on the top row, the brass Poundland ones on the other drawers, will post photos at some point 🙂

Geraldine has gone now 😢 she sold on fleabay, more than I expected at £2354 before fees - no idea what the fees are?! It was almost £100 less as the guy paid part cash and dh counted it wrong 😱 I wasn’t going to but messaged and asked if he could check if he had paid less and he then sent the extra, I was not expecting that to be honest!

Not sure yet what to do with the extra money, the tax saving will be £29.75 pm which will probably go to the energy DD. I want to give dh some extra cash to go away for his 50th weekend in York, then it’s possibly going to sit in a pot for a holiday in 2024 as if I can I’m hoping to cut all holiday spending apart from what’s already booked and blast the mortgage hopefully ending the end of 2025, but I don’t want a whole year with no holidays 😬 However these plans all most always change!

Geraldine has gone to a good home. Obviously he is an honest kind of guy so where better! It's so easy to miscount cash. I hate counting cash!

At least you didn’t have to have her put to sleep (take her to the scrapyard).  I am still scarred by the experience of scrapping my first car Ted.  I told the scrap yard owner where the spare key was and he replied “we won’t be needing the keys”.  Poor Ted.
