Yet more spending today, it needed doing or I would end up spending more as we were low on a few basics. So £47.13 spent in lid1 so £98.50/ £1000.I’m making up a big batch of dh meals, homemade pasties for the first time, spag Bol, lasagne maybe chilli too. I’ve got stuff to make some veggie curry for me but I’ll make that another day in the sc as it’s full. I’ve managed to round up some “change” for another extra cruise payment of £29.53 from topcashback, sky mobile credit (changed provider), and a birthday underspend.Could do with another blast at vinted, I’ve still got about 60 items still listed but it’s all really cheaply priced and nothing is going now, not sure I can face re photographing it all 😩 perhaps a few new listings would kick start it for a bit 🤔MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4

Can you bump or do a wardrobe spotlight to highlight your items? Not sure how much that costs - over never done it, but might be worth a try.Mortgage start date Nov 2014 - £90,545 over 25 years
Re-mortgage Oct 2017 - 78,295 over 23 years
Re-mortgage Jan 2020 - 55,000 over 26 years @ 1.94%
Current Mortgage Outstanding Middle December 2020 - £47893.35 - a reduction of £42,652 in just over 6 years!4 -
I usually just reduce, I probably won’t bump as it costs money and lots of items are really low now, I’ll look at spotlight that though thank you 🙂
We went for a drive out last night to collect an unwanted sofa from good work friends mums place, he’s also been helping decorate at the factory so dh took him and I out for a curry to say thank you while we were there (no spend for me as I said I can’t pay on our £1000 challnege 🙄) was very good and very cheap apparently. I’ve suggested we go back maybe in December again to visit as he usually comes our way and I know now he’s suddenly had to retire than he would appreciate it, such a lovely little town by the water he lives in, if it wasn’t for friends and family we would be moving there 😊
Spending still at £98.50/£1000 but I’m out today with best friend to the shops, it’s her turn for coffee and toast and I will just mooch or perhaps get some ideas for Xmas stocking fillers. I do need to get a couple of bits from the budget, I’m out of moisturiser - I use Nivea so soft for night time so it’s cheap, plus some loo roll, nothing exciting.Weather seems to have cooled now, it was change bedding day yesterday and I had to decide between the very thin summer one and the new 13.5tog I bought reduced last week, I plumped for the summer one this week but am not sure if that was a little optimistic 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -
I think it's meant to warm up again over the weekend - or least be cheerier! Well done on holding firm about the challenge (and money) - it's so easy to get sidetracked!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks Vix 🙂
Well the winter quilt will be going on tonight I was cold last night. Not much to report, I spent £11.99 yesterday on root touch up and moisturiser, I’m “over the budget” by £35.54 as it’s at a total of £110.49/£1000, minus £20 I spent on a tesc@ gift card to earn tcb. So a few NSD’s are in order if a can get away with it to catch up.I’ve got a few dinners in the freezer for dh, and enough for me for a few days of I put the effort in. Last night went to see the third conjuring film with ds2 and dil ready for when the new one comes out soon, I do enjoy what feels like free films due to the pass 😆 even better in an electric car and bringing your own cup of tea 🤣
I shall probably be staying in today, tomorrow I’ll be cleaning up the factory all day so I’ll do the house today and try and get all the washing done and the new sofa we have been given a good wash, hopefully the photos i ordered will come soon and I can frame them and finish that room off.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -
Well I’ve had a lazy day, had mum over for a coffee this morning, did a few loads of washing, shampooed the new to us sofa, dyed my hair and brows/lashes at home and made an apple cake for the first time which was quite edible, used up the apples I wasn’t going to eat and I also froze it in portions so as to not eat the whole thing today 🤣
Factory clearing and decorating is going well, we have got the agent coming to take photos Monday and I think we might need to decide by then how much to reduce the rent by, how much of a difference it makes when the price has been POA I don’t know, we will list the price once it’s reduced though.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
Busy day today, I tried to tax the car yesterday and the mot is about to run out so it wouldn’t let me 😩 now it’s booked in for tomorrow but we have had to drop dhs van so he can take the car before he starts his new job at around 7.30am, then I’m back in the afternoon to see the estate agent and collect the car from the garage, luckily dil has offered a lift so no tubes and walking - hooray!Dh should be getting an early night but he’s out at a gig with ds1 after a big family lunch out courtesy of my parents for their anniversary where he’s had a few already 😆 ds1 set a one pint limit for the day festival this evening as it’s £8 a pint! I’ve set my alarm as I’m worried he will oversleep as they decided to walk nearly an hour back once it’s finished to the station as they probably won’t get an Uber easily.£4.70 spent on parking for lunch out today so the total is now at £115.19/£1000 (with a £20 tesc@ voucher bought from that still) so I’ve caught up a little and we have roughly a one day “overspend” now, I will be spending a bit more tomorrow though as we need a few bits.Lunch out was ok, Indian street food which was fine but - I don’t want to sound ungrateful 🙄 but some of it i felt could have been slow cooked by me, and I’m no expert. It was a nice enough experience but I dread to think what the cost was with so many of us. I guess we don’t often eat out and when we are away, we are on cruise ships so there’s no bill for dinner which for me makes it a more enjoyable meal 😁
Anyway, to do list for the week:
Get car MOT’d
Tax car
Show estate agent round factory for photos
Sort out great aunts new iPad as she’s visiting Tuesday so I can 😩
Have normal Aunt (actually I’m not sure that’s the right word for her 😆) round for lunch Friday
Hospital check tues
Book blood test and get form from gp to do this first
Gym twice
Cinema a couple of times hopefully - the conjuring and the Roses
shopping with both mum and best friend (separately)
mini food shop - seem to have lots of meals in freezer for dh still
Buy mum and dads birthday gifts
Try get tickets for ds2 for the spooky show in York whch has sold out - he’s changed his mind since i offered when I bought ours 😒
Clean house, it needs way less cleaning than it used to though I should probably still do a bit 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -
think of something else to do with mum and friend- you don't need to go shopping till January!

Another £27.41 spent yesterday (aside from the £45 mot from the car pot) , mum insists on buying the coffee on a monday. Managed to get the car mot’d , it passed but needs a new tyre as he spotted a nail, so will sort that out soon. Met with the agents (working together as a multi agency) one was nice one was a bit of a - insert your own word here- 🤣 polite but clearly thought I was just there to let him in. I asked a couple of basic questions and then got a load of technical terms and letters which I’m guessing he thought I wouldn’t understand 😒 overheard them discussing how there’s no information of prices on neighbouring units and that’s something I did know about as dh is a nosey neighbour and some told him what they pay 😆 reminded me of trying to buy a new car years ago when you would get ignored walking into a showroom or like once when I still remember asking the price of a car (average small car not super car) to be told it was “very expensive”…..
Still, fingers crossed something happens with it, they took new photos and are deciding on what we should reduce the price to.Today I’m off to hospital and then have Great Aunt over as she has a new tablet I need to “sort out” so she can online bank, she’s only recently got a phone with internet so I’m not sure how well this will go, I did tell her to contact the bank to register for banking as they will need to post out passwords etc. but not sure she’s done that!Dhs first day went ok, his work partner was off so somebody luckily came with him and gave him some tips, looks like half the day is work and half is driving through central london as expected. He was in Hackney yesterday which we used to pass through on the way back from hospital a lot, it’s an awful journey in rush hour, but they finish fairly early to account for this, he was home about 6pm which was later than I originally thought but earlier than usual 😊
Made another apple cake yesterday after last weeks triumph, this time I made it healthier with way less oil and sugar and basically it was an apple flavoured splat 🤣 so I’ve cut into big slices for dh and bough custard so it’s now an apple pudding! I spend £1 on ONE APPLE in m@s yesterday for it so I wasn’t about to throw it away. Also made a spiced tea loaf after finally remembering to buy cinnamon, that was more edible.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3
