@newgirly - Amazon sell a giant tub of Maldon salt - 1.4kg? We buy it maybe once a year on subscribe and save and it's cheap as chips Vs the shops. No good on chips tho! 🤷🏻♂️3

Thanks Ed, I’ll have a look for next time 🙂
Daisy, I’m so sorry I’ve just read back over the last page and I don’t know how but I’m completely missed your post! Too late on the maldon salt, but avoiding the tights buying thus far 🤣
Family stress at the moment, more stress than I’ve had in a while 🙄 not kids related but still having a big impact. Went for a long walk today into town and bent best friends ears for a bit, then home and lay on the sofa watching a film with dh, can’t remember the last time I did that during the day but it’s helped me relax a bit, at least getting plenty of steps in this morning offsets the laziness this afternoon, hopefully I’ll sleep tonight now as that’s been getting difficult again.Bought a few bits, mushrooms and a big pack of mince and made a Sc full of bolognaise that I’ll also turn into lasagne and chilli for the freezer in the week for dh. Spending is now at £205.21 /£1000 and that’s if I count the £20 voucher as cash too, oopsie it’s going too fast 😳 Some good news is I sold a couple of items on vinted today, first time in ages!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁9 -
I’ve taken the plunge and finally stop being a pension coward 😩 I’ve no idea about them, never had much of an inclination to do anything but chuck any paperwork in a drawer over the years but I can’t avoid it for much longer! So far we have two (one each) must be work pensions that were stopped in 2018, but I’ve also one for just dh for half as much again from reassure , not sure if this is another old work one or a private nationwide one we took out many years ago (mid 90s)?! Will need to do more research, I’m sure I had a NW one too that I paid a bit into for a couple of years at least. Pretty bad to have so little clue about something so big, but better late than never i guess. Will ring nationwide first to confirm where to start looking, there’s a company name online but I’m aware I could be easy prey for a scammer so would prefer to speak to them first I think.I think we will be not far off £100k between us as a total, sounds a lot to me but I know in pension terms it’s not. Its never been a priority to us, as it was always a case of getting by and then overpaying. Dh is now looking to retire early if we can rent out the factory 😒 so time to get my act together!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6

£100k is still pretty good going for something you've not given any attention to over the years 👍
There's a pension tracing service on gov.uk you can use to help find out details about old pensions:
https://www.gov.uk/find-pension-contact-details
I've never used it, so can't vouch for it, but has to be worth a try for something which definitely isn't a scam?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!5 -

Thank you so much that’s very helpful SC 😊
Glad to hear it worked for you Penny-less, how an earth would you have found it after 40 years, I struggle finding stuff from 6 months ago sometimes 😆 luckily I’ve kept I think enough to make a start with tracking down what we have, although it’s an unordered mess of bits and bobs Part of the avoidance of pension research by me is that I’m concerned we made bad choices with who ran it or fees paid etc. but it’s done now so that’s that’s. Also if dh is working for a few more years I should be looking at how much and when we could potentially add to that perhaps 🤔
Annoyed with vinted today as they banned some shop bought brand new bathbombs I was selling, they were classed as food or drink , I’ve appealed and they stuck by it 😳 weird as I have other bathbombs listed! I thought can I relist with different photos? Perhaps not worth the risk incase I get banned.Off out soon to take mum to the shops, need a top up shop even though I’m trying to avoid spending 😩 my new go to is homemade colslaw most days, lots of red cabbage and carrot with the tiniest bit of onion and a table spoon of light mayo, fairly healthy and feels like a nice treat. Problem is I find something I like eating and eat it everyday until I’m fed up of it 😆 new ideas needed for an interesting week I think. Dh is set as I did some freezing for him yesterday, couple of lasagnes, couple of chillis and he’s eaten the spag Bol already. I think maybe I’ll do myself a veggie curry in the sc to freeze.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
You can replace the mayo with yoghurt in a coleslaw and it tastes nice.Mortgage start date Nov 2014 - £90,545 over 25 years

Hi bargain hunter, that’s funny i did try it 50/50 with mayo and yoghurt yesterday and didn’t notice the difference, will have to go all yoghurt next time, thanks 😁
Gym today, then I took dil her birthday presents over as well as washing and chasing the accountant and the estate agents. Dh got paid yesterday and it’s less than expected, looks like it’s probably because he still hasn’t got his card through to tax at source for certain self employed workers so he’s been taxed at 30% instead of 20%. So a bit less money for a while but I’ve worked it all out and allowed for NI and some “holiday pay” so all should be ok. As he’s now paid weekly there will be a bit of a surplus for the first two weeks, so I may pay off the cruise balance.Dads birthday tomorrow so I’ll pop over for lunch, I did offer to do it here but he wants to do it 😆 might go for a walk in the morning if it’s not wet and perhaps make it to the cinema, I can’t keep waiting for people to go with, I need to go alone again 😊MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
All sounding very positive NG! Enjoy the cinema (think it’s meant to be wet tomorrow 🙄).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
