Thanks everyone, well still not good. They sent an email threatening to sack him at 12pm tomorrow and inform the police if he doesn’t return it. 😡We don’t have paperwork proving that it’s his except this list which is not signed or dated, the official contract shows that they own two of these particular machines and there’s two there still plus the one he has. He has now offered to swap this one for another (if they write a letter stating this ) but that’s been refused and they won’t discuss it until he’s returned his machine. I’m beyond angry!I think he will bring the machine on his van and leave it there and see if they will swap there and then for another one (this is mainly to keep the peace with family as my brother is involved) if that doesn’t happen though I am pretty sure he will - finally tell them to foxtrot off. I mean the irony is knowing our luck the police probably would waste time on this even though there’s plenty of much scarier stuff going on 😳
As for the wages, they have stated in his email that due to the “theft” he won’t have wages as that cost will be deducted as well as losses they may have had. He’s extremely upset, he’s even given them equipment he didn’t need for the move, hardly the actions of someone stealing stuff I would have thought.I feel so bad going away while all this is going on, he’s absolutely fine about it and I’ve asked all three kids to drop in and take him out over the weekend. He will probably enjoy a bit of peace thinking about it , he can slop around and watch rubbish movies 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -
You've known from the start this crowd are a shonky lot so unfortunately this is not surprising really that they are stooping to such underhand tactics.
I don't think he should take the machine back. Their contract says they have 2 machines, well they have 2 machines so whats their beef? If they go to the police, what evidence do they have they've lost something? 'We have a contract for 2 machines but we used to have the use of a third and we want it too'. The police would tell them to foxtrot off too.
Dh should stand his ground, call their bluff, keep going in to work his notice and refuse to engage with such nonsense. I feel a bit disappointed with your brother though. What on earth is he doing siding with the new owners? He knows how badly treated your dh has been - pay cut, no pay rise, uncertainty over his own job as they talked to staff but not to him, now trying to pull this stunt? Your brother and the other 2 members of staff should be thanking your dh for all he has personally sacrificed to try to keep their jobs. Thats awful that they aren't.
Apologies if I've misunderstood any of this but that's what I've picked up.
Your dh could be having a meeting with the 3 of outside work premises and work time, remind them what he has done for the company, what was agreed when the new lot took over and also remind them of that saying about 'they came for the x, but I wasn't x so I said nothing'. Cant remember it properly but you know the one I mean. This company is moving them miles from their current place of work, offering nothing in recompense and seemingly quite happy about it. How long do they think they'll be there before the new folk edge them out, or possibly accuse them of something spurious and sack them too?
So sorry for what your dh has been going through these last few years trying to save the business, having to continue to work there but no longer being in charge, putting in so many hours for the sake of customers and now being treated like this. What a sour end for him.
Dxxx

dh also needs to write everything down including the extra machinery and time he's given them and send it registered post so he has a record if he has to chase them for his wages.22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈⭐ Never save something for a special occasion. Sorry to hear that NG, but Daisy is spot on - there was always the possibility there was going to be trouble, given how dodgy they've been from the outset. I'd second her advice, although appreciate that while it's only a threat, the threat of involving the police is not nice and you might decide it's not worth the hassle (although I suspect it's only a threat because they don't have any evidence - as she points out, they have a piece of paper saying they've got two machines, and they've got two machines).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks guys 😊 been so busy, on the phone the last few days mostly 😩Well the long and short is dh offered to swap the machine with another one for the sake of family peace 😒, if they agreed to an email starting that so he doesn’t get accused of taking it, they agreed and then later the higher up boss rang and said no, we won’t discuss it now and you bring it back by 12 today or else.So he loaded it up, parked it next door on the factory neighbours drive where they have cctv (the neighbours suggestion) with sound and got all the guys down to come and see it , then locked it back up and said he wants a phone call from the boss which he will record or an email to confirm he’s swapping with consent and if he doesn’t get it by 12 he’s taking it to the tip 😆 plus also volunteering to go the police station with videos of the three machines and the contract staring there’s two. Not sure he would have wasted their time with the tbh but still…
Boss wouldn’t speak directly to him but gave permission (recorded) so he swapped it back. I’m not happy and he’s not but he’s trying to see the longer term picture as we are a fairly small family. I’m really upset and annoyed but have been calm towards family, I have not spoken with my brother nor will I at this point for a bit as I don’t think I can, dh is being civil and also now working until they close mainly as he wants to be there while his and their stuff is still being moved. So tiring all this stress! I’m off on my cruise tomorrow for four nights with my two oldest friends so hopefully that will perk me up, the kids have rallied and are babysitting dh when he’s not at work this weekend, taking him to the pub and cinema etc. and even best friends dh just messaged him for a beer and they only really see each other with us once a in a blue moon which was nice of him 🙂
Just about to check the finances and work out how we pay the bills in sept if they don’t pay him next week which is probably a strong possibility! I personally would have handled it differently that dh but I appreciate the effort he’s gone to to try and not let things spiral too badly.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -

It’s the last day we are off first thing tomorrow. It’s been ok but not without its strains, I’m not sure either friend would cruise again. I’ve felt although it was a higher end line than usual that I’ve not enjoyed it as
much as I’m probably old for my years and prefer more quiet areas. Being a summer short break really doesn’t help.Dh is at home having a busy weekend, he’s going to be exhausted by the time I’m home 😆 he’s been to
the pub everyday I believe, plus watching and going to football, then his team won against ds1”s girlfriends yesterday after they took him out to watch it. This won’t have pleased Ds1 as they are supporters of rival London teams 😆
I’m so worried about what comes next when I get home, I’m trying to not think too much on it while im

Fingers crossed this final day goes well - and there's at least one thing that you've not seen/done before, or is pleasing to the eye, or funny, or.......... When LG moans there is 'nothing' to write in their diary, we get them to think back and write down 1 thing that was different/nice/funny etc about the day. There's usually something.
At least it sounds like your DH hasn't been at the factory 24/7, which wouldn't have been good. 😬to football rivalry, but someone's gotta win, right? If there was a goal(s), then that's at least a more interesting game to watch.
Hey - fun fact, it's 50yrs since Sir Rod Stewart recorded and released the song 'Sailing'. How's about you and the girls do your rendition on the boat? Just for fun 😁
