That’s odd, there should be another post here 😳
Hi Earthgirl, it’s all organised now but I’m not sure how much for as I never see dh anymore as he’s always at work 😆
Not much to report, I’ve had a busy week so haven’t done the money shuffle yet. We saw the accountant though and he talked me through what dh should be earning from his new job, it was a little vague in the NI front - “ you won’t need to pay that for a while yet and it won’t be much so don’t worry ” so I googled it and will put that aside each month, I don’t like the concept of it’s not for ages don’t worry? Anyway, I just need to work out how much to put by each month to cover his own holiday pay or sick pay now he’s off. He also said dh should continue paying out a certain amount each month even without the rent as he can afford it and it’s tax efficient, I was very happy about his but apparently dh has not decided yet if he will 🥲
I’ve also decided to again stop buying clothes for a while, I did go out and get some things to tide me over first - bras and some of those long sleeve cotton skinny tops from primarni that go under tops in winter as well as a new bright red jumper in m &s sale for £4.50. But that should be enough until the end of the year, if by some miracle we book a wonderful holiday or I lose a load of weight that will be revisited mind 🤣
Time to make a coffee and then perhaps do the finances 😊MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7 -
Well this week has not started well, the scaredy rescue cat as eaten a long piece of plastic- one of those that tie black sacks. It was (sorry!) hanging from her bottom this morning, she’s just had an operation to remove it,she’s fine now and I’m waiting for a call to collect her soon. Estimate £1500 🤦♀️ Thank goodness I started a vet fund last month and have £30 towards it 😂
Urgh, I need a degree in maths to work out our finances at the moment. Today dh has also had a call
from the estate agents about the factory who have conferred with the other agent and decided it should now be marketed as a two floor with mezzanine instead of three floor property and we should expect to achieve 8-10k less ☹️
But my bigger irritation is with a the person on vinted who has purchased a brand new top with tags for £1 and messaged me last night and again today to
see if I’ve posted it, she bought it a few hours before , for goodness sake!Rant over.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -
Good luck with all the changes/challenges/cat/family stuff
May I politely suggest with so much going on the vinted £1 hassle is just adding unnecessary stress! I have paused mine for the moment .DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Oh dear, naughty kitty cat. We have one of those, as I'm sure you'll remember. Plastic munchers are a nightmare. £30 is better than nothing?!Pretty annoying news about the factory rethink. Will that put the price back into the range you originally expected for it, or will it be lower than that?Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
