Thats the trouble with gifting - even if you think you are doing a nice thing gifting something to somebody, even without any expectation of a reciprocal gift, it can make the person feel guilty.
I admire your boy telling everyone in the family and sticking to his decision (I wonder if he ever feels a touch uncomfortable if you still give him gifts) - it relieves him of hassle of buying, everyone else the hassle of thinking of stuff for him and him the hassle of wondering how to get rid of joke presents or stuff that isn't to his taste.
Well done getting your new TV

I remember Martin making that point in his Xmas speech he shows every year Daisy. No ds2 doesn’t have a problem won’t people buying presents, his attitude is “I’ve told them and if they want to still buy that’s up to them” 🤣 you can’t stop mums and grans buying for you at Xmas 😬
Off to hospital for a blood check soon, fighting for space in the car park again 😒 then off to the factory to visit the guys and pick up the tv. Things are now tense there, ages ago they booked the flat in York for the four of them to go bank holiday as a leaving do, they shut a few days after. First my brother dropped out as he’s too busy, then one of the guys said it was too much walking last time and he struggles and the last one dropped out yesterday as his MH is bad. I feel so bad for dh ☹️ he’s worked with two of them since he was 15 and the other is my brother and it’s the end of an era. Not sure what he will do now, he’s saying he might go alone but it’s a long drive and he’s so exhausted I’ll be worrying about him driving on his own really! As if I don’t feel bad enough going on a 50th mini cruise over our anniversary anyway 😩 I should add he doesn’t mind me doing that at all I just feel a bit guilty and there was only one date that fitted with the others.Went out for dinner yesterday with the girls that I hardly ever see anymore which was nice, spent £32.50 on a pizza, dessert and lemonade incl. tip not sure if that’s good or not nowadays, seems expensive to me for a high street chain with no deals around? But only ever eat toast for breakfast out so it’s been a while, the personal spending pot took a hit yesterday what with that and I bought a big collage photo frame to finish off the room from the r@nge. I did pop in b00ts as I checked online and their small photos were I think about 18p online and instore they were 55p ?! Not sure why but I decided I will do a bit of online comparing and do it all from home this week. I remember getting 100 prints free a month from a particular place, you just paid postage but that deal has ended now. Anyway, I’ll be late if I don’t move!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -

Thank you debts new budget I shall check that out 😊
Bit of a nothingy week so far, best friend is away and I’m avoiding the gym while it’s hot as I’m not so good in the heat, had a few dizzy spells like an old dear 😂 I’m hanging out on the top floor today with the fan on as it’s coolest, need to pop to mums later to print off a voucher for son in-laws birthday (through top gift cards so cashback earned). I’m currently trying to pack incredibly lightly for my girls mini cruise next week. I’ve a yearning to pack light but also to have everything I might fancy while away, it’s a battle with myself every time 😆 I did Google the wardrobes on this ship as I’ve never been on this cruise line and it’s one little wardrobe instead of the big walk in one on the older ships I often go on. The two friends I’m going with will be taking medium cases so we defiantly struggle.Dh currently the invisible man as he’s at work all hours in preparation for leaving, he’s just ordered a load of stuff from am@zon to decorate and repair once they leave and has accidentally put our address instead of work and it’s not easily letting me change so my weekend may well be waiting in for deliveries now 😩 Oh well I wasn’t doing much anyway! The new room is pretty much finished, I’ve ordered a little fake sheepskin rug but that’s about it now, my little sewing table from the bootsale looks quite good, I might even post a photo 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
It’s not been a great day ☹️ long story cut a lot shorter, dh removed some of his own equipment at the weekend including a machine that will be needed by the staff that move. He had warned twice recently that he would do this but it’s gone down badly and he was asked to leave ☹️ he’s been told he won’t get paid for this month or the month in lieu he’s was offered. He stayed and packed up some stuff and hoped for another conversation but so far it’s not happened. It’s possibly a grey area as he has a list of equipment that’s shows what he owned separately from the stuff we gave them when we gave them the company, but it didn’t make up part of the original contract, it was by word of mouth agreement. I mean we gave them the company and all equipment for free anyway to keep everyone’s jobs so you know it’s annoying, it even has a sticker with his name in the back that’s always been there 🤷♀️
So I’m currently trying to avoid family issues as my brother is now his boss, dh has been really good actually , even returned to the factory afterwards and started helping clear stuff even though he’s been asked to leave, in the hope they could sort it out 😳 I think he would be willing to negotiate to let them have the machine anyway if it had been handled differently.Anyway, I guess there’s a good chance we are about to be ex mfw’ers 😩 it’s both the down and upside to having an offset I suppose! He should be able to start work soon at the other job but we will be still short by an awful lot of money f they don’t pay him the two months salary, it’s has all been allocated already to pay for stuff. This really isn’t turning out to be the fun first mf year I’d hoped for 🤣MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5 -
I have no words, nor advice, newgirly, but didn't want to read and run. I don't know if what has happened is legal - it doesn't sound very ethical, and certainly not very kind.
Hope you and DH are OK, and remain OK.
