Mmm, that sounds better than mine, colslaw and potato salad are avoided for the same reason that chocolate and crisps are here, I love them too much 😆

I’m having an extended lie in today as I’ve woken up with pain round my collarbone, I’ve the dentist and hygienist at 11 today so may need painkillers to be able to attend, I’m not missing it as I’ll be charged anyway so I may have to roll off the chair 🤣

Anyway I have been trying to work on reducing the direct debits a bit lately, gas and electric is still up in the air as they have reduced it from £238 to £214 pm but won’t go lower for a few months so they can make sure it’s not too low. Water as mentioned previously has gone down to £55 from £103 pm, I’ve just changed my mobile sim from sk7 to leb@r@ and it’s gone from £7.50 to £4.80 but discounted to £1.15 pm for the first 7 months 😱 also it’s also now 5gb up from 3gb and with no roaming charges, the old one was £2 a day while away.
Then finally I’ve switched broadband provider from sk7 after a battle as they had basically charged me too much and removed a discount, now I’m with communit7 fibre for £17.99 rising to £21.99 after the first 24 months I think it is, sk7 had risen to £40 with the discount 😡
I’m trying to tighten things up where there is waste, so there’s more money to spend on fun things 😊

Dhs meeting with another company went well yesterday, he will still not go there though and has asked for a crazy amount of money, to put them off a job offer I believe 🤣 he has tried to sell ds2 (that sounds bad) as an option for a job there too, maybe something might come of it, it’s a career he would love but the travelling is both long and expensive and he loves working locally in a no pressure job.

Dh visited his parents last night and found out that contrary to what we thought that older brother was using their card to order their online shopping he has in fact got all their money is and gives mil an allowance 😳 it’s a can of worms I’m not sure he can cope with opening right now, they have made older brother sole POA as he took over just as dh had got the paper work ready as they requested so that all three brothers could do it jointly, the paperwork vanished and strangely he managed to get it for just  himself while living hours away with no solicitor visit 😒 mil is fair money wise with the boys but very trusting of favourite older son (the one who charged guests for food at his wedding and tried to swap his tables bill with ours at the venue as we didn’t have a lot).
Last time dh and he spoke he was trying to get him to agree to put parents house in his name to save if if they need a home 😡 urgh. If they need a home or care then pay for it so they can have the best they can. I foresee a lot of problems in the near future…..

Well yesterdays list didn’t get completed as ds2 messaged to ask if I wanted to see superman, housework or cinema with son?  no contest there 😆 luckily I got up early and did a bit of cooking first, orzo Greek salad, some foil tray dinners for dh, 1x spag Bol, 2x chilli with beans that were too hard as I used dried even though I cooked for ages 😩, 2 lasagnes missing white sauce and cheese as I’d run out of everything so will buy and finish today, plus a tea loaf.

The film was silly but nostalgic, I really enjoyed it 😊 Its great to hang out with them as adults but I miss having young kids in the summer holidays, best friend still has a ten year old. I’m now seeing it though rose tinted glasses not the stressful time it actually was 😂 I loved planning stuff for us to do and it was great watching them have a good time, except the five hour wait time on a bench with all the bags while they queued for a ride at th@pe park perhaps 🤣

Anyway time moves on, todays plans are to finish some of yesterdays plans, take mum to shops, do a tiny top up food shop plus buy some token birthday gifts for the boys this week, they both just want money, so I’ll just get a few foodie or drink bits to unwrap. Will need cakes too which will destroy the budget as it’s quite slim now 😆 plus I’m not sure if we are going to ds2’s that evening, I said I’ll take some food if we do as they will both be at work u til late and I don’t mind, perhaps a big cheese picky board…

A few more steps forward with the decorating, I’ve done the ceiling and walls, two coats and could do with another perhaps still 😩 nobody likes the colour but me, it’s a rich cream which ds2 says looks yellow and dh says is bright, I don’t care I know what I want 😁
Today is the boys’ birthdays and tonight  I’m off to a pub for a quiz and curry for £10 with ds1 and friends, ds2 wants to do nothing and took the day off to fester at home, his plans have been thwarted by his wife who has arranged something this morning and his FIL who has invited himself round this afternoon 😆he said he may now go the the cinema at lunchtime as his day of leisure is not happening so I can see him then.

In miserable financial news, I’ve requested the car payment money from dh for this month as usual (comes out of the business but direct debit is from current, account) and he’s said well that’s your lot on that then as the rent is stopping. It’s not that I hadn’t realised this I just hoped there would be enough in there that he would keep paying if I kept quiet 🤣 I see it as a separate entity from our personal finances as I do home and dd does work. Anyway the end result is I managed to register and look up the outstanding amount owing and interest rate 9.9% 😱😱😱 amount o/s is just £3887.23 😩

So there’s no reason to not just pay this off from the rent that was going to pay down the cc that runs out in November, I can’t be paying interest like that! I have one month in hand and we are hoping for the last payment in the next couple of weeks fingers crossed.  Our cc will need to be transferred to new 0% cc which hopefully will be easy, if not it will have to come out of the offset and I’ll have a mini “mortgage” again 🥲  I guess I should do a round up of all the debts and expenses perhaps? It might be time to post it all and work out a new debt repayment plan, tricky when unsure of dhs wages yet, but he knows his day rate as self employed so I guess it can be worked out.

I would definitely pay off that car finance! Good to try and get as much of a clean slate as possible for the minute

    Youchy that 9.9%!
Would getting a 0% CC deal to transfer it to make any kind of sense? (Assuming you would be allowed to of course.)
