Make sure you keep the bamboo in a pot! It will run rampant otherwise and can even damage your foundations! Hopefully the โ€˜sadโ€™ plants will perk up with a bit of tlc (my mum loves a sad plant and will nurture it back to life but is hopeless at keeping healthy ones alive! ๐Ÿ˜‚)

So glad to hear youโ€™re feeling better and staying rehab. Hope specialist can sort out the erratic heartbeat.

Great news on the mortgage - sounds like DH has finally realised itโ€™s close enough to touch and is fully with you on the home stretch ๐Ÿ˜Š

    Thanks guys ๐Ÿ˜Š

The bamboo is in a pot as we have a paved garden, we should really build some sort of long trough to go along the fence and let it spread to block out the neighbours ๐Ÿ˜†

Dh does seem a lot more keen to get rid of the mortgage now itโ€™s getting closer, although Iโ€™m a bit nervous that we are going to have different ideas about what to do with the extra, the worst thing is no plan! I certainly wonโ€™t be going anywhere or stopping my diary, we may well end up moving anyway or doing the house up so will have after the mortgage plans, you donโ€™t get rid of me that easily ๐Ÿคฃ

Well Iโ€™m embarrassed to write the next bit considering my frugal stretch until the end of the mortgage but no point in hiding it, Iโ€™ve booked another cruise ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Itโ€™s mine and best friends 50th next Jan/March/June and we have been discussing what mini break we will do for a very long time now, Best friend suggested a mini cruise, she wouldnโ€™t mind trying one and her dh doesnโ€™t fancy it and I think she was trying to be kind as Iโ€™m not keen on flying that much anyway let alone with things still up not right in the health department. I did say itโ€™s next year I would hope Iโ€™ll be fine ๐Ÿ˜†

Long shot is, we are going on a cruise line Iโ€™ve never been on before whch is a bit more pricey, we have booked a cabin to share between the three of us and the extra drinks package (all have to have the same) so itโ€™s an extortionate ยฃ993 each! and that was with voucher codes and discount for third person. The deposit was ยฃ75 which has come out of my personal spending pot and to be honest we will be mortgage free fingers crossed by the time I pay the balance, although I was thinking my vinted sales pot would be a good start towards saving for it as thereโ€™s ยฃ329.50, perhaps after this week Iโ€™ll restart selling again, itโ€™s all be paused for a while. I do feel a bit relieved the holiday plans are sorted now as we have really struggled to decide for so long ๐Ÿ˜

Dh is at work this morning so Iโ€™ll pop and see mum (if they pick me up) the Afib has come back in the last few days quite a bit and Iโ€™d not had it for weeks, so Iโ€™ve been trying to take it easy but really Iโ€™ve still been doing a lot more so today I will do! Next week Iโ€™m at hospital/rehab every day but one ๐Ÿ˜ฉ I ย managed to find a stitch that had been left in a few days ago, though it was just not healed until best friend said donโ€™t be daft thatโ€™s a stitch ๐Ÿ˜† right on my neck as well (I try to not look closely at anything relating to the op!) low and behold a bit of black string was there, what an idiotโ€ฆ.

Off to look at the finances now, will be back later ๐Ÿ™‚

Cruise sounds fantastic ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ You're only 50 once, and your experience this year has shown you've got to enjoy life while you can, as you never know what's going to be around the next corner x

Something lovely to look forward to and something positive to do with the extra money.ย

Maybe for the first few months put the money away as normal, half to you, half to dh and it can sit in your personal spends for exactly this sort of thing.ย  Each of you can do whatever you want with it.ย  That way you both get to treat yourselves but within an agreed limit that doesn't affect what you decide to do in the future.ย  ย
