I know it takes a year for your body to get over a general anaesthetic after any op,. I'm assuming a heart op will be even tougher for the body to cope with so you will get there but you are doing amazing for only being a few weeks out. Enjoy your outing, come back home before you start to feel exhausted and schedule in some nap time straight after 😀

Thanks Daisy, it went well but was a very slow shuffle with a lot of sit downs 😆 I cancelled friend coming over after work though as I was too tired.Today I have potentially two visitors separately this morning, plus I’ve been awake some 4am again. Dh has gone to work first thing for a bit, his mood is getting worse since he went back doing a few hours here and there, I think most of the stress is his private work backing up and I’m not sure either of us knew how little I could do afterwards and how long recovery would take.Ds1 has completed on the flat, the agents lost the keys so it took hours of waiting there while they were driven over by the previous owner, weird! They have been painting, ready to move in either this weekend or next week depending on the internet as they both work from home some of the time. So exciting for them starting out 😊 I wish I could help but dh and ds2 will be there all weekend and ds2 went after work to paint last night. It needs some work but was an amazing price for a large 60’s style flat on two
floors right by the tube. They have bought some bits but are happy with hand me downs and second hand too which is great, they have a free bed, sofas, table and chairs and other bits and bobs from family. He’s in the next town which is 10 min drive so I’m very lucky 😬 Girlfriend is a Leeds lass so it might not be forever 😢New grocery budget started, we are spending a lot at the moment as I’m trying to eat well, not sure if I should trim the budget when ds1 and girlfriend move out, they do eat here sometimes but I’m not sure how much a difference it will make, maybe I’ll see if I can trim £50pm off.I’ve also had an idea for some family xmas presents (it’s never too early!) there’s money off for Father’s Day in places so I might do a batch of family cat calendars 😬 with mums, aunts , dd’s and our cats as well as appearances by mine and mums late elderly special cats, I’ve so many photos many of them themed to the seasons it should work well. Can you tell I have a lot of time on my hands and am quite bored? 😂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁9 -

Sounds a great idea - do something constructive with the enforced resting time plus save money off something you need to buy, win win

Your family cruise sounds great ! We did one a few years ago and also have happy memories…
glad you on the mendDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks everyone 😊 I’ve held off on the calendar as I can’t get the sizing right, I might try and take some more funny photos of them all before Xmas too.
Blood tests later this morning, I’m already starving as I wake up so early 😆 Dh and ds2 went to ds1’s flat to help paint last night as it’s going very slowly, he had lots of friends over and they only managed to paint one coat on two rooms, no idea why although they did pop to the pub 😂 looks like the weekend will be them moving stuff over and building some furniture. Luckily the builder next door to the factory is lending dh a van all weekend for free.
Finances just checked and I was £109.69 short, this is because I sent my mum £80 and aunt £40 as they gave up their room credit for parking with us as well for the cruise in 2026. Shame as I would have a had a small surplus! I’ll take it from my personal spending money which is healthier than usual due to missing the last month 😆 current balance now £144.75.
£244.73 spent on the cc since the 1st June 😱 so £305.27 left until the 3rd July if I try for a £550 budget, or obviously £355.27 if I do the usual £600 budget. It’s time to try and reign in the M&S Cornish cruncher and raspberry shopping I think 😆 I’ve been buying what I fancy as I don’t fancy proper homemade dinners at the moment.

Blood test results came back the same day, very surprised at that! cholesterol is high so a phone appointment with the pharmacist at the gp next week, I’m assuming I am being prescribed medication for it then. Would have hoped to get it down through diet but perhaps in the circumstances it’s more pressing. Either way I’m eating better now, my diet has improved from before the op but there’s still room for improvement. I’ve just done an oc@do shop for today (only delivery slots available) £45.18 spent incl 99p delivery and got some bits to make feta, lemon, basil and tomato spaghetti from hungry happy healthy’s blog which I’ve not made before, with wholemeal a pasta for me, looks nice and summery 😊
I’m going out for brunch this morning with two lovely friends, one is driving and parking very close by, it’s usually empty and has various seating so hopefully I can get comfy without taking ten cushions with me 😆 still having the irregular heart rate issues which I wanted clearing up before my appointment with the surgeon on Wednesday, don’t want him threatening me with other treatment!I’m having a lie in today as dh just told me there’s someone asleep on the sofa 🤣 it’s the boys’ friend who went to Wembley to watch England last night with ds1 and clearly went drinking afterwards, then had a food delivery which woke me up at 2.40am. He’s helping all day at the flat today so at least he will be off the sofa soon 😁 Dh will be out all weekend so I’ve got various people babysitting me, best friend, mum, dd etc. I’m going to be lonely after I recover fully as it’s been lovely having people around all the time!Moving on from medical waffle…..
To do list for the weekend:
Hang washing out slowly on airer in gardenGo for brunch
look up healthy recipes
Use up my Tesco clubcard hotel voucher that expires in a few days, think it’s for about £85 , no idea where to go for one night that we haven't done before and is nice and not too far away, any tips welcome!
Transfer my £1 a day savings from the last few days
check topcashback
check new vista points, I spent ages yesterday doing an election survey then it got stuck and wouldn’t continue , so annoying!Water tomatoes and plants as everyone’s forgetting, with a small plastic jug which will take a while 😁MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -
I'm not sure the friend will be up to too much helping after beers and a 2.40am takeaway 🤣🤣🤣!
What about somewhere on the Kent or Essex coast for your voucher? Only trouble is it's the wrong time of year at the moment, your £85 might no go very far!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
