I think so Vix with things up in the air and many cancelled holidays this year, I shall make up for it next year when we are MF though 😊

I’ve a lot to get used to and work towards to get as good as I can be, hopefully by my 50th in March 😬 what a celebration that could be! maybe mortgage free and with a new heart valve and a stronger fitter me if I join the gym after rehab 😁

It’s raining this morning, of course the washing was left out last night so I’ve just gone down to move it and gone then back to bed with a nice coffee, it’s given me the chance to check my July to do list and I’ve managed to tick a few things off already:

Pencil in trip to York- looks like it’s the very end of august

Ring Tesco about the hotel voucher that wouldn’t work- done and got a new one weirdly for £80 instead of £75! Will now book a hotel room in Durham for a night while we are in York.

Compare gas/electric - staying on SVR with current supplier

Everything else is a work in progress still.

Poor dh is taking his parents dog to the vet today to probably be put to sleep ☹️ we saw them on the way back from hospital the other day for the first time in months and were shocked at the state of him 😡 his legs were red raw from pulling out fur, he’s gone blind, not eating properly, he’s in a terrible state. He’s very elderly and they said he’s ok, he’s not suffering!

After some sharp words from dh they have agreed to let dh take him, MIL can’t go with him (the dog barely knows dh) as it’s too upsetting for her 😱 er yes, it’s upsetting for everyone but your responsibility!!! Yes they are old but as dh reminded me , when he was a teenager and had a Alsatian dog who passed away, his parents left the body in the garage all day while he went to school (SCHOOL!) and when he came home after, made him dig a huge hole in the garden mid winter when it was freezing to bury her in - alone. Sometimes I forget how they were in the past.

Anyway moving on to cheerier things, this is such a depressing diary lately 😂

Plans for this weekend starting today as I’ve nothing on:

Dig out my little hand weights to use at home

Think about what to do when mortgage free money wise!

Pop round mums early evening to see little brother after work who’s visiting

Try and catch up with ds1 and see his flat now furnished and try get him to clear his old room a bit more 😆

watch house of the dragon- it’s a group watching thing and we haven’t all been available so far so I may go it alone and risk the wrath of ds2 🤣

Cook an actual meal for everyone for the first time in ages 😬

    cancel the cruise 🥲

Go out for breakfast Sunday with the three fiends who I rarely see anymore

    Cinema if time

Well the poor dog has still not been to the vet, they cancelled the appointment as he’s “better” and it’s not good timing for them 😡 even though dh was taking him. We think maybe BIL who lives hours away has given his opinion, he’s been allegedly getting emails from the vet so he can order their medication and send it to them, not only is this unlikely, the dog hasn’t been to a vet for a very long time. Poor dog. Is it cruel to say how they treat the dog is how we should treat them if they are ill? Sorry but I’m just so cross! Will try again but it won’t make a difference I’m sure.

Dh is at work and I’m going to meet friends this morning and tomorrow morning for breakfast, I’m living life in the fast lane now 😆 todays is at the bakers/cafe round the corner, I might not stay long though as ds1 is swinging by on his way to meeting friends at the pub on their way out when it opens, I have to catch him when I can now he’s moved out, it was hard enough seeing him when he lived here 😬

I need to update the finances as I’ve ordered some coffee pods as a treat for dil and I and some silicone gel to start using in my scar, all rather expensive so i think my personal spends will take a hammering. The hotel night is booked for Durham, however I still have my clubcard voucher 😁 Dad has many points at the chain we were going to stay in apparently so we have a free night! Now I’ve the stress of what to book with the voucher still 😆

Thanks Daisy, unfortunately booking a vet to visit would not work. FIL has had ambulances arrive where he won’t let them in after she’s called for one and he’s been ill 😳 He is very much the man of the house and is very stubborn. I don’t believe they are purposefully cruel , just very selfish not that it makes any difference to the dog ☹️ ds2 has said if someone will go with him then he will try. I don’t really care if we upset them or they hold it against us, we do try and help but it’s often unwelcome and really I’m not sure there’s much point anymore.

Indeed!  I think they might be the reason I am so aware of wanting being a good mother in law, I’d hate for my lot to feel like that 😆

What a great result last night for England, I was tired so went up to the penthouse early to watch it, but the tv is small old and quite far away so it was difficult to see who was who 😆 so that’s going to be on the list of splurges when we are mortgage free, a slightly bigger tv.

Another food shop done last night and coming today, I’ve got a freezer full but not much fresh stuff or any snacks, I think things had got too run down. Now I’ve spent £225.12 of a £500 monthly budget 😱 not being able to go to Aldi/Lidl is have an impact I think, as well as delivery charges on top, but hopefully it will only be for another month or two before I can lug shopping about. Also why am I shocked at food prices EVERY time, you would think you get used to it but no, I’m surprised in a bad way every time!

Our food spends have increased by £100 a month the last few months, I think it's probably all the fresh fruit I'm buying but still scary to see how much certain things cost. DH does his dad's shopping now and he only has certain brands and definitely not getting a lot for his money.
