So great you have a wonderful home life and supportive people
glad you found the sleepy books - hound of the Baskerville rocks !
Louisa Hay book you can heal your life - is great and has guided meditation (please note I am definitely not saying do meditation instead of having the required important op but as well as!)
I have just looked and she has a YT channel now including self healing meditations etc - check out what appeals to you there as well
She also herself did a sending ‘virtual fighter pilots’ to ‘zap her own tumour meditations 20 years plus ago.
I had a partner who had Stage 4 liver cancer and the naturopath said it was important to only do things which fill you with joy - so maybe also look at where you are not and what can be done to move your life to less stressed
I will also chant for you for a successful op and recovery / i am a Buddhist so)DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thank you lady with a plan ❤️
Feeling a bit better today, best friend took me out for a coffee this afternoon while dh watched tv and relaxed for a bit, he’s already flagging! He doesn’t usually do anything at home so I’m not sure he knows how many little jobs just get done with anybody noticing, I also spotted ds1 and girlfriend washing up this morning, this is an improvement 😆

Just checking in briefly again, still not updated the finances yet 😩 not heard back from the bank fraud team except to ask for screen shots of all the messages from them, goodness knows what they must think as it’s suck an obvious scam 😳 I’m certainly not wasting anytime on that at the moment though. It looks likely that dd will take our cruise, she’s offered to pay the fees to change it and doesn’t know that they won’t let us use the credit we had if we swap it, so it will cost us £590 if they go rather than getting a refund 😆 we said it was free as they are about to buy a house so are not spending money really, so we will still do that and probably give ds1 our spending money to buy something for his new flat when he moves in. That way all three get a benefit as ds2 has mums cruise and we are buying some drinks. Although it’s a lot it feels good to be doing something nice for them all right now 😊
Dd also told me her office is a two min walk from the hospital where I’ll be, so that’s great to know 🙂 Now the fog of fear has lifted slightly I’m starting to realise how lucky I am to be able to be seen so quickly, no nhs contact at all yet. Best friends father had a similar problem and was called within a couple of days of being referred by the nhs and it seems outcomes are better the earlier it’s done.Plans for today :
Go to shops with best friend for coffee and take back slippers for hospital you are not allowed 😆
make spag bol
finally update finances

💙💙💙💙💙MONTH 18 OF THE 33 MONTH CHALLENGE💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 ❤️❤️FIRST DRAFT!
Start balance October 2022: £61,452.11
Balance at 3rd April 2024: £31,145.39
Total reduction since month one: £30,306.72
Reduction since start March: £1488.23
Well this is not the figures I thought it might be earlier in the month 😆 Dh gave us £4600 odd I think it was to overpay, but circumstances have changed a bit. We have spent on private medical tests and appointments, plus I’ve put by £1100 incase the kids have our holiday as well as £275 for ds2 to buy drinks on his holiday. Plus I’ve given away over £1500 to scammers 😩 I’ve set aside £500 float for dh when I’m in hospital and recovering as he will struggle with just the cc I think, oh and I’ve also spent lots on nighties, bras and misc. bits I need for hospital, power banks that sort of thing. It’s not actually as bad as it could have been as I’ve got a refund on some trips we booked and holiday spending money we won’t now need.Hopefully the picture will be clearer next month on whether we will be raiding the mortgage to help pay for my operation. 🙂

On the upside you have enough money to navigate your way through this utterly rubbish time without getting into debt and although it’s not the OP you wanted you are still heading in the right direction. I hope you can get the treatment you need soon and end the worry.Mortgage OP 2025 £6200/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
Mortgage balance: £36,255

Thanks Skint spice, I know we are so lucky and I’m really realising how much lately 🙂
Just had a look at the spreadsheet and we are still on track for 33 months at the moment, we don’t have that much in the offset so the most it will extend the mortgage by if we take money out would be to the end of 2025 I think, so maybe a 39 month challenge.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
Well I had the appointment with the consultant yesterday, it’s as thought and open heart surgery for a new valve which would be man made so it lasts forever, thank goodness as I don’t want to go through this again. He said he can try and get my GP to refer me to Bart’s to get it done hopefully within a few months on the nhs, but if private (still Bart’s) It can be from a couple of weeks. This threw me as he was asking how will I pay and can my parents afford it 😱 I then said I would think about it and didn’t ask any of the questions I had 😩Went to my parents after who said it’s up to me but they think go private, I’ve offered money from the offset and said if they don’t take it I will only blow it on holidays and they said that’s fine 😂 they said it won’t affect their finances at all, so I’ve said yes please. I’ll try and get it for when ds2 is back from our holiday so they are here too, so from three weeks really.
I need to redo the finances from the other day, as I forgot I have £800 “mortgage money” sat in a high interest monthly account which normally gets knocked off the total, I just forgot about it, normally I know to the penny what’s where 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
Good news, the bank fraud team called and have refunded the £1543 I gave to fake “ds1” after their investigation! I then had to have have a lesson on how to not be so stupid again on the phone which is fair enough 😆 I was offered support to help if I’m struggling to make decisions and feel vulnerable, hopefully I don’t need that and it was just good timing for the scammers as I was very stressed waiting for test results that day. Will definitely update the finances today now, we should have a much better op now for March 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6
