The friend a visited I went to school with and that was our daily lunch, an apple doughnut and a cigarette hiding behind the local social centre from the teachers that were sent out to check on us all, we just dropped the smoking and kept the doughnuts 34 years later 😆
I do feel worried about it all, but weirdly after being very anxious about my health since lockdown really with no real reason, I’m way calmer than I thought I would be now. I’m sure that will change nearer the time but I just feel so incredibly lucky to be able to go privately, the news everyday just seems to be only about long wait times. Strangely the cardiologist and written on my notes that he thinks the anxiety could be caused by the heart problem (ie, before I knew about it) who knew that was a thing, maybe I will chill out a bit after 😆

Thanks mmp, it went well and I had an echo, X-ray and ecg after and it looks like the op will be early or mid May, just a couple more tests to do.
Out tonight for dinner with friends with apparently a Groupon voucher one of them has bought on behalf of us, so not too expensive.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
Glad tests went well and you got your money back
so wrong that people scam others. .. I guess it’s modern day burglary..
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

It’s just so easy to do it remotely too nowadays as well I guess Lady.Very lazy day for me today, taking it even more easy now the surgeon explained what’s wrong 😆 looks like I will have the op within the next month which is good news, still waiting for an idea of price though and they took no card details for all the tests yesterday. The weather is lovely here so I’ve done all the washing, I’ve also sorted out lots of bits and bobs for ds2 and dil to take away on the cruise, sarongs, jewellery bags, cases etc. other than that I’ve wasted time watching tv 😩 it’s so boring trying not to do too much!I’ve done a big oc@do delivery for tonight, I’ve splashed out as we usually go to Lidl and I’ve bought lots of nice healthy bits including some organic fruit and salad which I can only assume must be gold plated judging by the cost 😳 £130 spent. It just feels like now’s the time to have plenty of healthy food, it’s one area where I really don’t make enough effort or spend enough, things will change on this front once I’m recovered! Not much else to report except I’ve decided to withdraw all but £5K that’s is in the offset and pay it off the actual mortgage. I think it’s enough as an emergency fund as dh has a few thousand float in the company which if desperate we could borrow. Plus the temptation to borrow it straight back from the offset when mortgage free - ie. neutral with it in the offset will be too much!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7

Managed to wake up late for once today, after a late night having a curry with my parents and two of the kids and their partners and my Aunt. It’s so sweet she came down to see me for the second week running and has made me a baby elephant to take to surgery (I used to have an elephant teddy as a child) she’s very talented it’s mohair and fully jointed, I shall post a photo 😬
I missed two calls from hospital yesterday, even though my phone never left my side 😩 switchboard can’t see who from so I shall spend the weekend wondering 🙄 what an idiot! Seeing best friend for coffee this morning, she’s back from holiday and apparently her father who has been waiting for a heart scan for a few months and had an appointment in July has just had it cancelled with no new date, he’s going private for it now luckily but I wonder if our areas is worse or is it like this everywhere now?Drew out the money from the offset ready to pay off the mortgage, just need to check with dh he’s ok with the change of plan before paying it off the actual balance. Current circumstances have shown that priority going forwards is a decent long term large emergency fund, it’s something we have relied on the offset for for many years now.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -
