Thanks so much guys 🙂
I did get seen this morning and managed to ask a few more questions, my dad had tried to reassure me I’d be needing a stent however the gp said oh no you will be needing open heart surgery 😩 no idea of wait times though but she did say I shouldn’t be going away, so it’s all been a bit of a shock really.I’ve set up a WhatsApp with all kids to ask who’s interested in the cruise and dd and ds2 are, ds1 isn’t. My parents have also offered to transfer theirs over so both sets of kids can go if they want to which is very kind. We are waiting on whether they can get time off, if this does all happen I’ll probably give ds1 who doesn’t go our spending money to even it out a bit and he could use it to buy something for the new flat. Hi ever I’m still waiting for Seascanner to actually reply to my message 😳Off to the cinema later to see late night with the devil, if I can stay awake as it seems my sleep time is 9pm for about three hours at the moment 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
So sorry to hear about your diagnosis, no wonder you are worried. So great though that there are funds for you to get this surgery done asap
Sorry too about the scammer - so easy to get caught out - we all know someone who did sadly - always when one is busy.
Try and get as much rest as possible - maybe indeed get into a proper sleep routine..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks lady with a plan 🙂
Sorry this is such a miserable diary right now 😩 I’m just hoping I can’t feel this scared for too long and it will ease off a bit as it’s overwhelming. The doctor has said I can have the maximum dose of the anxiety pills that were prescribed a few weeks ago so maybe that will help. It’s a bit hard to focus but I need to update the finances today really, best friend is taking me to the shops this morning.Poor dh though, he’s obviously upset and worried and now today he finally has his big meeting with the boss he’s only ever seen once to discuss all the work issues. Then last night he had a late night call from his little brother crying saying he can’t cope with his parents any more as he helps then out and they are very demanding and dh needs to do more. It’s a lot all at once.Oh and dil was threatened by some teenagers with a knife at work this week, the police actually tracked them down and arrested them so she may need to go to court! It’s all go here at the moment 😆
Trying to think of the positives:
Helpful parents in a position to pay if needed - a big help I don’t underestimate although do worry about taking
Best friend locally who is very thoughtful and keeps telling me to ring and come over anytime if I need and now carry’s my bags 😆
A dh who is always calm and tells me it will be ok
Kids who care and a ds2 who keep making dark jokes 😂
Having someone here most of the time, even if they are upstairs is nice
Lots of tv channels - random but I can’t focus on anything and it’s a distraction, yesterday was hours of gone fishing which I love 🙂
Thank you so much for all the lovely comments everybody, there’s so many kind people on here ❤️MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁8 -

Really sorry to hear your news, I hope you have had a good day - today CM4

I don't think its possible to stay at your initial high stress level ??? With a bit more time im sure even the worst news must begin to be sort of 'normalised' ? I don't know from the experience you are having, but from other traumatic events it goes from I cant breathe to being able to live with the situation. The difference, of course, being how long it takes to move along from one end to the other dependingon all the circumstances.
I would add to your list of positives: the way your finances are now. Can you imagine if you'd carried on as you were, then the scam money and now this news? Your diligent over payments the last few years have given you breathing room to help you cope. Hopefully with all thats going on at work it helps give your dh another reason to try to sort out his work problems rather than carrying on as he was. Life throwing up these somewhat larger issues can put lesser issues into their proper place and suddenly you realise whats really important.
Hope you are beginning to acclimatise to the news and everyone can focus on Tuesday and hopefully some good news about the way forward. Sending lots of hugs and strength through the ether to you all

Ah thank you all so much, I agree I can’t be this panicked for too long!Had a call from then hospital about costs involved and realised I’d initially said a stent, turns out they don’t do major heart surgery and nor does anywhere else local and private (no intensive care apparently) so I’ve cancelled that appointment and weirdly my dads best friend was at Bart’s today seeing his cardiologist so booked me an appointment for Thursday next week, this is where it would have to be done so it made more sense. Also good news today dh had his meeting and has basically put forward my brother to be manager of everything but the factory floor, quite unexpectedly! They seemed happy with this and have also agreed to sign the lease. Dh has also told them he wants to go part time within five years at the latest which they said was fine, plus he wants to start and leave earlier while I’m getting sorted so I’m not on my own so much ❤️ - time will tell on this one though as he was late tonight 😂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7
