Encanto was great - the 4 of us (me, DD, Ds2 and Ds3) really enjoyed it - and the Bruno-no-no-no song π΅ is well and truly stuck in my head! π€£Β
Results appt is through- 23rd March - so a full 4 weeks after op date. TBH, I'm not giving it any thought - I can't change anything and hopefully the lymph and margins are both clear and I can move on to the next stage!
Afternoon naps π΄Β are a now daily thing - a good hour around lunch time! π I'm not rushing anything, although I have been on my work emails - mainly to delete masses of stuff - I haven't replied to anything/ looked at anythingΒ Β just deleted all the mass / cc-d emails and then logged back out.
Payday today for both DH and I (mine's usually 28th, DH's is last day of the month, so for once they match! Funds are mostly shuffle automatically, but I did throw an extra Β£200 into each of my isa and sipp - values are falling, sure - but they will recover at some point. The situation is just horrific and I feel overwhelmed if I read too much on it - I'm trying to read a daily summary and that will do for now. I think it's all rather scary and very, very sad. 'Nuff said.
We were meant to be having the boys' bathroom refitted next week (originally 21st Jan but when I contacted the chap after Xmas he said some jibs had overrun and asked if he could move it to half term week (last week) - we said no to that week as we were planning on going away for a couple of days and everyone was home from work/ school so went for w/ c 7th March. Anyway, when we then went back to him with someΒ changes to the items he'd chosen (very cheap and nasty, quite frankly- he appeared to have totally forgotten what we had asked for) he said that he had forgotten all about us and was booked up into July.....!!π±π‘Β No real apology, no offer to move anyone else (like the person he'd booked into our slotΒ within the previous 10 days . ) or keep us advised of any cancellations.... and then no response when we went back to himππ. I think we've probably had a lucky escape - but we booked him back in early Oct, so that's quite a few months now wasted and we are having to start yet again.... (we've been trying for 2 years to get this room sorted!) DH has seen a couple of people since, so we are trying - neither of them inspired us, though. π sigh....

Gosh, that's really annoying, but yes, you're definitely better off without him!8

I'm glad you've got the date for the appointment, greent, one more certainty (erm, hopefully, who knows these days!).Β Naps sound good, and so does deleting all those emails, ha - I wish they weren't there, but I do like deleting unwanted emails
Β And limiting exposure to the news, with the news being so awful, is wise - I'm doing it too, and I think quite a few others are, it doesn't do them any good if we fall down into a rabbithole.Β One thing I'm going to do is get the Ukrainian Institute details from Jack Monroe's twitter account and send some money there.Β Β
And honestly (changing the subject completely) - your builder!Β Wow.Β Wowowowow.Β Yes, a lucky escape, but more time living with the room the way you *didn't* want it.Β Grrr.Β Best of luck in finding someone useful.2023: the year I get to buy a car7 -
Afternoon naps are a good plan, DH is doing the same xxx7

Not sure if you use an outlook client @greent but if you do, you could consider a rule to move any email where you are CC'd straight into your delete folder (or a sometime/never staging post) and update your signature to say you are not routinely reading these so if it is for you, address it to you, please.

I have an ooo on my emails saying away ufn and to forward to 2 colleagues instead and I informed lots of staff about my absence - but I'll still get all the group emails eg- all staff, SLT+ (not SLT but get sensitive emails relevant to certain students - need to be aware of such things for exams etc) -all senders will get an ooo reply. I could set ip some rules to get rid of the things like 'daily news' - a summary of info out to all staff to stop everyone getting 10-20 emails instead - but I still want to keep abreast of some of the school information so I'm not going back totally out of the loop. It's frustrating enough that I've been in the job just under 6 months and now have people coming to me as first contact for exam stuff (previous job holder still in school so was getting a lot of the emails originally as they are also 1 of my 2 line managers) and now everyone is being told to email my boss and assistant instead. Still, that's a minor niggle in the scheme of things.Β
The run up to leaving work to be off was a bit weirdΒ - it reminded me of leaving to go on mat leave - the sorting out of everything and handing over of stuff and updating people and knowing that you're coming back, just not sure exactly when. Definite limbo- quality to it all.
Anyway, today I've done a bit of ironing (sat down) - it's all small easy stuff - tshirts, pjs, joggers etc. And that is all I've done - other than make pancakes for lunch πππI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 Β£124616 01/11 Β£89873 01/13 Β£52546 01/15 Β£12133 07/15 Β£NILNet sales 2024: Β£2011 -
Big important questions. What was your pancake topping?
It sounds a bit like leaving a job, it's a strange kind of sensation to give up your duties.10 -
Β Hi greent, glad the op is over and done with now and you are resting at home, itβs a shame about the Gig but watching a film with all the kids sounds good, a bonus that it was all four of them π sending you restful vibes and good news waiting round the corner soon xxxΒMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! ππ7

Oof - started a post and lost it
Pancakes were topped with a wee drizzle of golden syrup and loads of lemon juice πΒ
Β£75 PB win for me today - sadly nothing for Mr gt. I will invest my winnings into his PB pot later this month.
More seated ironing today - and I also made bread and rolls - yum! Had a slightly shorter afternoon nap today too
Did some life admin t'other day - we now have a n3ctar am3x acxount - hopefully Β£30 TCB and we will get some bonus points for the first 2 months spending and then points the rest of the year (will cancel it after Xmas as there is an annual fee) It will be used for day to day spending (food and fuel etc) and will pay it off throughout the month as these are usually paid for by debit card. Bonus is that the cards are purple - my favourite colour π π€£I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 Β£124616 01/11 Β£89873 01/13 Β£52546 01/15 Β£12133 07/15 Β£NILNet sales 2024: Β£207
