Most of what I'm doing @Alchemilla is paper/ admin based-, so I'm sat down. And I'm still napping most afternoons! π΄Β
Theoretically I could sit with the access arrangement students, KP - but we try and sit most of them in with the main cohort for mocks. I'm preferring the idea of planning the post Easter mocks and summer exams instead - and messing about with KS3 dataΒ Β I can do these at my own pace and it doesn't matter if I do them for an hour and have a break or do them at 3pm etc - not really a choice to do that with a student taking mocks π
It's constant exam season this year, @CathT - this batch of mocks started after half term and run until 25th March. Then there's 2 weeks until half term - and as soon as we get back after Easter we go into Y10 and Y12 internal examsΒ Β and then straight into the Summer exams which finish 27th June... no real let up as all the exams are run as if they were real exams...Β Hence everyone working crazy hours - I do feel a bit guilty that they are - but most of them would be working those hours anyway - I'd just be doing it too!
I have a potential new cleaner coming tomorrow for a chat - she's more expensive than our old one but I just want someone who is reliable and does a good job!! π€π€Β
Went for a little walk yesterday to the canal - saw the white duck we watched grow up from a bright yellow duckling last year - was really nice to see him back! (Most of the bright yellow ducklings unsurprisingly don't survive very long -Β it's like they are wearing a hi-vis jacket for predators!) Hi-vis jacket for predators!Β That is so depressing...Β But, how wonderful that you watched one of them grow up.Β Lets hope it has a long and happy life. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Hi-vis is a definite character - possibly because he looks so different. Pretty sure he's male, as I've seen a couple of male mallards chase him away from 'their' females. Papa Swan also massively dislikes him - he will go after him and make him fly away (mama Swan is on a nest- we have seen 5 eggs so far) - he chases the mallards if they are too close to the nest, but Hi Vis isn't allowed within several hundred yards - the only difference between HV and the mallards is his colouring - he's like a mini Swan.
I've been working from home for a week amd managing around 5-6 hours (less frenetic than the office) but went into work Thurs and Fri for 5 hours each day - totally wiped me out dealing with people! If I go in I'm going to have to work even shorter days and build it up!
Bad back means I have an expensive chiropractor appt on Monday (Β£90) - hopefully worth it for some relief!
Had post op follow up - tumour almost tripled in size, going from 22mm non invasive to 42mm invasive + 21mm non invasive in 5 weeks. Also upgraded from grade 2 to grade 3 and stage from stage 0 to stage 2 - looks like it was caught just in time - thankfully no spread to the lymph they removed as a sample. However, I now need another test done to see if I need chemo - fingers crossed not!Β
Ds2 has tested positive for covid last night - poor thing. He had it ba k in Oct so missed his first jab (was booked for whilst he was positive) and then couldn't have a jab at all until Jan due to having to wait 12 weeks - he was due another jab in Easter hols but now that's not possible, as he'll have to wait again - argh!Β He's also stressed about missing school - he's in y11 so has gcses this year.I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 Β£124616 01/11 Β£89873 01/13 Β£52546 01/15 Β£12133 07/15 Β£NILNet sales 2024: Β£2011 -

Β The stats on the tumour size sound daunting, but I'd want to know, in your shoes, I hope it felt right to you too.Β Β
And poor DS2!2023: the year I get to buy a car9 -
The tumour sounds awful, but keep positive!Β Hopefully new car to you will help!Β What is it?Β Is it your dream car? What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Honestly, don't actually understand about the tumour other than it got bigger and worse. But I'm glad it has been caught in time.
What your new car?!7 -
The level of detail on the tumour does sound a little daunting, but I think most of us would rather know and ut definitely sounds like medics have you well informed?Β
The nature chat is fascinating stuff, I love the opportunity to sit and enjoy the natural world when I'm unwell or worried, hope it has the same therapeutic affect for you π«7 -
Congrats on the car and fingers crossed you don't NEED chemo, but also that if you do you get it promptly. xxx7
