So I start chemo this week - 6 cycles (2 x 3) - bit of a shock. Has hit me hard - I have been really positive about everything up until this - I've ended up crying most days (varying from slow leakage from eyes to full on sobbing with lots of snot). I've had my hair cut shorter - from a decent bit below my shoulders to just above my chin. I will be cold capping - and we'll see how far that gets me. Am planning on getting a wig, tbh - I don't think I can take people looking at me - and also the kids at school when I eventually get back (am banned from going in during chemo - understandably so - schools are a breeding ground for all sorts of bugs!)

However, I will get through it - I might be bald and nauseous throughout, but I'll get there.... eventually!

Ooh - and it was DS1's bday this weekend And we saw 17 ducklings with 1 mum duck today - and watched mumma Swan get off her nest for a stretch and poppa Swan take over for a short while. 😍

I'm sorry that the chemo is getting you so badly, I know  it doesn't help but I think snotting up a storm is very reasonable in this situation.

Can I ask what style you want your wig to be, because I think a punk mohawk would be awesome on the school run.

Glad you got to enjoy the swans, they are beautiful things.

Greent, of course you're crying!  I hope you can just accept it as a very human thing to do, it sounds like you *are* doing that, actually.  I think I'd get a wig too, in your situation - though I probably wouldn't wear it at home in the hot weather thats going to be coming up!

And here's to DS1's birthday, ducklings and swans, and a family get together for you over Easter.  Sending positive vibes.

Loving the idea of a mowhawk! 😅😅 I was thinking something more normal for those times I wear it, tbh - although long crazy red curls also appeal....

And I'm only planning on wearing it out and about, kc - eg graduation ceremonies for DD and DS1 - at home I shall embrace the thin/ lack of hair! I think it'll just give me confidence in social situations.

Last day of fully normal things today - chemo related appointments tomorrow (on a bank holiday!!) and Tues before the big one on Weds. Easy food and disney plus are calling....😀
