Great news on the chemo. I love my robots too - and they do encourage me to keep the house tidy. However, one of them gets confused by patches of sunlight on the floor, and thinks it's about to fall off a step...Β9

Has anyone seen the video from pop artist Tove Lo ??Β - she has an amazing song called 'Noone dies from love' whichΒ I frequently dance around the kitchen to singingΒ 'Noone dies from love'Β guess I'll be the first'Β -
however the video has a different robot relationship to the one I haveΒ

I had 16 (ok - more than that - I kept a few!) shoeboxes in the garage for things like flebay selling - 4 kids means that I used to buy around 12 pairs of shoe/ trainers on the dreaded back-to-school-shoe-shopping day, so we've always had lots of shoeboxes. I got rid of them to someone on 0li0 who was looking for them for the shoebox appeal.
Things gone this week/ last week - outgrown school uniform to school for 2nd hand shop, a nearly full tin of paint for free via fb00k mktplace, outgrown trainers sold via fb00k, a couple of books to CS bag, a couple of DS1's school art projects binned (entirely his doing, not mine!) - oh, and a small pile of stationery to work.
I went back to work last Weds - INset day. Was lovely to see people. I worked until 3pm and that was too much - I was shattered all evening. Thurs I worked until 1pm, which was better and then 3pm again on Friday. Exhausting! I'm WFH this week and have finished at 3pm and then 2pm - I have sooooo much work to do!! It is slightly less tiring being at home, though - people are exhausting! (Lovely, but exhausting! :joy) I do need to pop into the office, as my laptop needs its W1nd0ws certs updating, so I need to go and see IT - am undecided as to whether to do that today or tomorrow.Β Β
Bathroom fitter finished last Weds - although we had to call him out on Fri as the loo had a drip/ leak from cistern - all ok now. Looks lovely - and will look even better when we've decorated (repainted the ceiling and coving and the one painted wall (which is going to be a bright teal) We only have skirting on the painted wall and that's currently plain untreated wood, so I want to wax that, too. Hopefully this weekend - if nothing else comes up!
I've made the decision to turn off a freezer - not managed it yet, as we need to empty it. We have an American ff in the kitchen and then a mini chest freezer and an under-counter freezer in the garage - I'm aiming to turn off the under-counter one asap (I may then turn it on for Xmas if necessary)
I have the dates for my radiotherapy - starts in 2 weeks! That's good, though - I'm hoping that from November life returns to a bit more normal.....
DS3 went back to school yesterday (Y9) and DS2 starts VIth form today - he is super excited! I don't think I posted since results day - but he did really well - 12 GCSEs, grades 9-6 (6 grade 9s, 2 x8s, 1 x 7, 3 x6) - 2 subjects that he had grade 2 in in his Jan mocks he got grade 9s in bothΒ
DD finally starts her promotion job next week - vetting has taken ages (for an internal role!) - puts her on the same salary as me....!

Ooh - forgot to say I won Β£100 on PBs - but no-one else in the house won anything this month
Has been reinvested in Mr gt's name.
Sold a pair of outgrown wellies today - I bought them for a trip for DS3 (stayed away with school for a few days and wellies were on the required list) and he never worr them and has now outgrown them. Good to get another thing out of the houseΒ
So tired.... this working lark is hard!!! π€£

Hi greent - I would have expected half days as a phased return and may be not even every day at first. Is it worth re-negotiating based on how tired you are?
