  • Evening all, £2 sent to cc and a sale on ebay just £5 but it all adds up.

Nipped into Mr T on the way home from work, how on earth does a small top up shop come to £30, didn't buy anything fancy just basics.

    Hope everyone is ok
  • Evening and happy friday, hope everyone is ok.

Grocery shop done on the way home from work and just short of £60 spent, might need to do a top up shop later in the week.
Apart from hairdressers in the morning it is a quiet weekend, plan to catch up on some housework and chill with a new book.

    £1 TT sent to CC.

    Have a great weekend xx

I think a lot of people will be having a quiet weekend after Christmas and New Year festivities. Nothing nicer than chilling with a new book.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Morning. enjoying a peaceful cup of tea before heading off to the hairdressers, baby dog is currently destroying one of her christmas toys, front room looks as though its been snowing. I think i will leave it for DH to hoover up  :D.

Need to put some chicken in a tandoori marinade, having it in some flatbreads with salad and chips for tea. Also need to hunt out some stewing steak in the freezer for a pie for tomorrow.

Have a couple of bits to list on £bay and a few surveys to get on with if i can be bothered (not the attitude i know), i want to start reading my new book.

    Have a great day xx

Also mortgage  this month has gone out including £100 OP :), can't wait to be in the 50s next month.
  • Hair looks fab and cost me £13 less as it was a half head not a full head of highlights this time, so sent £13 to savings, also £1 to CC.
  • Morning all.

Looking like a dreary day here so apart from walking the dogs shortly it's a day inside day. I'm going to get on with some admin type jobs, make some candles (i save any left over wax from candles which have usually been gifts and buy wicks on £bay and then make mini candles in small jars). Also want to read another chapter of my book.
Need to order some dog food for baby doggo.
Stewing steak in slow cooker to make a pie later, found some bbq chicken in the freezer so going to cook that off for sandwiches this week, DD has requested a syrup sponge for pud tonight and DH needs some banana bread or flapjack for his mid morning work snack to keep him going.
Going to check out Neal's yard sale and see if my fav bubble bath is reduced and then might treat myself as i have £20 in Christmas money, if not it can wait.

Small sale yesterday £2 which will go to CC, listed 2 items on vinted and 2 on £bay.

    Have a great day xx

Ooh I love Neals Yard stuff.

Can I ask about the candles as I have a 3 wick candle that just burned straight down the middle leaving behind a huge amount of wax and it seems such a shame to bin it. How do you melt down the wax?

  • Morning! Sounds like the trip to the hairdressers was well worth it, well done for sending over the difference in cost.

Your meals sound yummy, mmm syrup sponge!

Hope you enjoy looking for bargains today.

SA i don't do anything fancy with the candles, if the leftover wax is in a jar i put the jar in a pan of hot not boiling water and leave it to melt, once melted i dip the metal end of the new wick into the wax and stick it to the bottom of a small jar and leave it to set for a minute and then pour the melted wax on and leave it to set, you could also remove the wax from the jar and melt the same way in a clean tin can (empty baked bean can) and then pour into jar, i did this with some blocks of bees wax that i had. All quite rustic i'm sure there is probably a better way but this works for me.
