  • Take care driving, we're down to mainly sludge now apart from one hill on the dual carriageway and some of the smaller roads south of the county.

    Luckily I'm heading to either!

Hope you're having a good week.

Afternoon all, still a bit of ice around but at least the snow has all gone for now.

Did a MrT shop on the ay home from work last night, came in at £100.11p so 11p over budget. Bit annoyed with DH as he promised our friends that are coming over tomorrow and staying for tea fish pie before discussing it with me, he hadn't realised how expensive fish is, so when i told him i had spent £25 and a quarter of our weekly food budget on one meal he was quite shocked and has promised to never do it again, i'm still fuming about it.

Work has continued to be busy and feels unsettled with the talks of strikes.

Survey are slow and nothing is selling on £bay or v1nted.

    Happy weekend everyone xx

  • Oops r.e the fish pie, my dh used two packs of mince to make chilli instead of one for shepherds pie. Not a problem in the end as I froze half and we'll have it this week instead.

Hope you're having a good weekend and you find out what is happening with the strikes.

  • Evening all.

Easy tea tonight bacon butty and bowl of tomato soup.

Had appointment with opticians after work, new prescription and new glasses needed which have cost £240 ouch, the joys of getting older and needing varifoculs, taking the positive that i was able to pay from current account and didn't need to put on CC.

Sold a couple of bits on ebay so £30 to send to CC, they are now wrapped and ready to post.

    PWPS xx

Ugh you’ve reminded me I’ve got the optician on Friday 🙁 They always try to get me to have varifocals but I insist on just reading glasses. I get free VDU glasses via work.

  • Hello, what a dark dismal day it has been today, at least it isn't as cold.

Frugality continues and had a moment this morning when i realised i had forgotten to get something out of the freezer for my lunch and no one had got bread out either, did think sod it i will pick up a meal deal and then came to my senses, made a picnic lunch of some small chunks of cheese, some oatcakes, grapes and veggie sticks, also chucked in a yoghurt, filled me up at lunch and kept me from starving. Also grabbed a free piece of fruit for break time that we get a work.
Finally used up the last of a box of English breakfast tea that was in a hamper we received for Christmas, teabags were ok but not as strong as yorkshire tea but wasn't going to et them go to waste. Saved a large plastic bag that held 10kg of dog food, perfect size for lining kitchen bin. Sold another ebay item so £7 winging its way to the CC, also reused packaging from a parcel i had received before Christmas.
Whoopsied pork joint for tea tonight with rst spud and veg, hopefully enough for tomorrow nights tea as well. stewed fruit out of the freezer and will knock up a quick crumble as we have some custard that needs eating.

    Happy Tuesday xx

It’s been gloriously sunny here but very cold. Even had my sunglasses on today 😎 Well done on putting some lunch together so you didn’t have to buy anything.

Well done on your lunch, I popped out after work to buy garlic for our stir-fry. I just brought garlic, I'm so proud!

    Your dinner sounds scrummy, enjoy!
