Morning all, overcast and forecast rain later on, so dogs have been walked and wood basket filled.
It is DD birthday today so a celebration tea planned, chinese takeaway and a birthday cake. Won't be a late night as she has a flight to catch early in the morning.
Had an email from sc0ttish p0wer to let me know they have sent £200 alternative fuel payment to bank account, i was actually doubtful that this was ever going to arrive, hopefully it will be in the bank in the next couple of day. Going to pay £135 off the mortgage to get us into the 50k bracket, so excited! The rest can go into the oil fund which we wont need to order until the summer as the tank is 2/3 full.

Free wood = Free heat to warm us and dry clothes on the airer.
Recycled gift bags and tissue for DD birthday presents.
Have a great day xx1 -

Thank you ladies, unfortunately money is still not in bank account, fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow.
Today is a slow day not helped by the drizzly, mizzly weather, not really achieved much apart from walking the dogs and lighting the woodburner. I have put the dishwasher on and put a load of laundry to dry on the airer. But as i had decided that this week off was about recharging and wellness i'm not beating myself up about lounging around reading and catching up on Tv that i have missed because i'm so tired from work that i can't keep my eyes open past 9pm.
DD had a lovely birthday and was up at silly oclock to catch her flight, she is now not back until Monday evening which just leaves myself and DH pottering around the house and as he is working most of the weekend and away all day tomorrow and overnight its just really me and the dogs, has meant i have decided not to do a food shop tomorrow and having an eating out of the stores week although i might need to get milk. Also with not going food shopping i'm not going to be able to get my work boots reheeled which was a job for this week, but it wouldn't be very frugal of me to do a 12mile round trip to drop them off and then to collect so they can wait until i have a reason to go into town.

Morning, it's blowing a hooley here, walked dogs and got soaked. We are all (me and dogs) sat in front of the woodburner eating tea and toast.
Finances have been checked and £200 has gone in, we decided to pay the full £200 off the mortgage, current interest rate is 1.64% until May 2026 then it will jump up to 6.75%. No way am i paying that so we have just over 3 years to nail this mortgage.
I will post my frugal wins later as it seems to early in the day.2 -
Morning all, blustery day here so washing is out on the line.
Usual day of housework and dog walking so far, I have put some lamb in the slow cooker which will be turned into a hotpot for tea tonight, found 2 dodgy lemons in the fridge so going to turn those into a lemon loaf cake, still eating from stores. DH is out at work later so will get him to get some milk as don't think we have enough to last until Monday evening.
Sold an item on v1nted so that will be £20 to the CC once it arrives in account.
Lots of things are being used up which is a good thing, last night i used up the last of a jar of chilli jam, decluttered 2 miniture bottes of prosecco that had been sat in the fridge for ages, cut open a tube of toothpaste to use it up rather than just putting out a new tube.

washing drying on the line.
reused packaging for v1nted parcel
Eating from stores
Microsoft rewards and surveys done.
Using up rather than buying more.1 -
I wasn't going to post this but i need to get it out.
So lost in my thoughts today, i live close to the area that has been in the news the last 3 weeks. My heart is breaking for her girls, her family and friends. I'm the same age, with the same number of children, even the same breed of dog. Could so easily be me or one of my friends. Life is so precious and we never truly know what someone is going through and how they are feeling or what is going on in their lives. I hope she is at peace and hope her family can now have some closure. We all need to stop, think and be kind.6 -
It’s so sad isn’t it. I hope they can get to the bottom of what happened.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3
