  • Afternoon and we have sunshine.

Another crazy day at work and i'm shattered but only 2 days until the weekend. Nipped into MrT and did a small top-up shop £4.85 spent, must dig out the receipt from my handbag and scan for points. Did manage to do a few surveys last night including a 100pt nectar one which took minutes.

Frugality continues, took lunch to work leftover pork sandwich, work friend brought in cake, had my free piece of fruit and a got given a mini mars bar off another work friend. Rescued some dog eared coloured paper from the recycling will cut it down and use as wrapping paper. DD had an amazon delivery so the paper bag has been saved and will be used in the future for parcels.
Put a load of washing on the airer this morning to dry, making HM sausage rolls for tea so will make banana bread with the manky bananas and bake whilst oven is on.

  • Afternoon all, ever feel your taking 1 step forward and 27 back, car broke down on way into town this morning, had to wait to be rescued, will have to wait and see what the garage say but don't suppose i will hear anything until next week. I need to see if DD can drop me at work before she goes to uni and i can get the train back after work to town and meet her.

Really are eating out of the stores now as have no idea what car will cost to fix, need to do next months budget and see where i can scrape money from, typical that it happens now DH has his tax bill to pay and  have DD,DH and MIL birthdays in Feb.

Feeling despondent and have spent the afternoon catching up on some tv and eating chocolate.

Sorry to hear about the car, hope it's nothing too major xx  Chocolate and TV well deserved.

  • Hello, feeling a little more upbeat today, the car is what it is and will get sorted. Have spoken to DH about the fact it is 10years old and starting to have things go wrong and need to start saving for a new one, not new new but something not as old.

I have listed 5 things on ebay and 2 on vinted this morning, do have a few more bits which i may get done this afternoon. Dog food for old girl needs ordering as does a present for DH now he has decided what he wants or his birthday. Tea tonight is toad in the hole and will make a choc brownie for pud using up some christmas choc.

Little wins today, delivery man brought a parcel for Dh, saved the padded envelope to reuse, 7 items listed that will hopefully sell and leave the house. All food from stores. Load of washing infront of the woodburner drying using free wood.

Hope everyone is having a happy Sunday xx
  • I swear we lead parallel lives, I was chatting to DH yesterday about our car as getting on a bit now. It's nearly 11 years old, fair play we've had a bit of work done but we will start needing a replacement. I have found that my fuel consumption is better now I'm out and about a bit, it doesn't like short journeys!

Well done on the listings and reusing bits and bobs.

Enjoy tea, I love Toad in the Hole.

Thanks Huggle, one thing i loath spending money on is cars from buying them, insuring them etc etc they are money pits, but i choose to live in the sticks therefore i need one and just have to suck it up.

    Hope you are ok xx
  • Evening, strange day with it being strike day and although i was in work no students in, did manage to catch up on a few admin bits.

Payday yesterday but i'm hanging off making an overpayment to mortgage until i find out what car is going to cost, parts have been ordered and i just hope it is done for Friday.
Picked up new glasses yesterday and they are fab, also popped into M&S and spent £15 on picky bits for DH birthday tea, we went out for lunch so snacky bits and cake will be fine for teatime.

Sold a item on vinted and an item on ebay, money in for ebay item £7 so this has been paid off CC.

    Frugal wins -
    Mon/Tue packed lunch from stores.
Received some food goodies from a family member who has gone away for a month.
    Reused packaging for 2 parcels
Free cake at work today to keep our spirits up.
Load of washing on airer drying in front of woodburner.
