  • Afternoon, strange day today as teachers are on strike and support staff are still in school. I have only worked a couple of hours this morning and have taken the ret of the day off as i had hours owing.

Payday today, love starting a new fresh month, £100 has been paid off mortgage and £400 put into savings for hollibobs. Quidco payment of £7.50 has been sent to CC and redeemed a £5 amaz0n voucher from a syrvey site.

Nipped into Mr L on the way home a i had £5 of voucher to spend, still managed to spend £33 but the larder cupboard is bursting with pasta, rice, cereal and lots of other staples to see us through the month.
popped into M&S as i had a £5 off voucher to spend and had lots of offers on my sparks card which always seem to stack well with the instore offers, for example i had 2 deli offer voucher for £1 off £7 and £1 off 8 these both worked together with the instore offer of 3 deli items for £8, so i got them for £6. Total came to £84 but after various multi buys combined with sparks discounts, £5 off a £50 spend and a £5.50 credit voucher total was just over £49. Ive stocked up on enough butter to last the month as i had 15% off dairy which made it cheaper Lidl.
Popped to Boots, spent £24 on shampoo, toothpaste, sanitary towels and some make up, make up was £7 and this comes out of my personal budget where as the rest comes out of the grocery budget. Also received 400 extra points for spending £20.
Bother order had arrived when i got home so we are stocked up for the month, also contained lots of brown paper packaging so that has been folded up and stored away.

    Frugal wins-
    microsoft rewards
    surveys - £5 amazon voucher
    Free packaging
Free swiss chocolate bar on my sparks card
    400 extra boots points
    M&S offers
Overpaid £100 to mortgage and saved £17 in interest

  • Evening all.

Not much happening but everything is plodding along without drama so that is a win. work is busy and as it was world book day today, much fun was had dressing up.

All meals including pack ups for work have been from stores, made enchiladas yesterday for tea and had 2 portions left over which have gone in the freezer for another day. Made some banana bread and used up some squishy bananas.

Decided to empty thr change pot as it hardly gets used now the kids have left school, no more muuuuum i need 50p for a cake sale  :D. Counted up £4.75 in silver coins which i have put in a small purse in the glove compartment of car, thought it would be handy for buying a loaf of bread or car parking/toll payment. Also counted up £1 in 1p which are bagged up to go to the bank next time i'm passing.
Have managed to do a few survey and comps over the past few days, also had an ebay sale. Could do with listing a couple of bits at the weekend.
DH is out at his sports club tonight so have asked him to pick up milk and bread from the co-op when he passes, saves me battling in Tesco at 4pm tomorrow and we shouldn't need anything else over the weekend.

    Frugal wins -
    Microsoft rewards
    food from stores
Free wood = free heat = free drying of washing.
64 Mr T points (DS has done his weekly shop)
    £8 ebay sale
    £10 redeemed from survey site.
  • Afternoon and happy Friday.

Today i have been on a course for work so later start and slightly earlier finish, win win for a Friday. It's also been a NSD.

No real plans for the weekend, see what the weather is doing and might get out into the garden and have a tidy up.DH picked up milk and bread whilst he was out last night so nothing food related should be needed.
DH mentioned last night that he hadn't had a takeaway from the chicken place in ages, told him we have southern fried chicken in the freezer from M&S, so tonight tea is a fakeaway SF chicken, homemade chips and coleslaw nom nom and much cheaper for the 4 of us as DD boyfriend is here and eats like a horse.

SP wanted meter readings, turns out we are £90 in credit which is good heading into spring. hopefully we can build on that.

MOney landed into bank account from £bay sale so that has been sent to CC.Finances have been checked and micr0soft rewards done, do have a few surveys to complete this evening.

Postie brought me my £10 B00ths reward voucher, this will be used for next weeks milk/bread top up.

    Frugal wins -
Late start and Dry weather = washing on the line, will pop on the airer to finish drying overnight.
DH picking up whoppsied bread and English muffins.
    £10 reward voucher
    £90 in credit with electric.

Well done on the fakeaway 👏 Frugal wins sounding good too, it all helps. Have a fabulous weekend.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Morning all, awake early so thought i would get up, make a pot of tea and get on with some admin bits.

Finances have been checked, all ok.

It's supposed to be a dry day today, so washer is on and i will peg out later, weather next week is going to be bitterly cold so i have changed the meal plan, was planning on making roasted veg cous cous salad for work lunches but have decided to dig out the odds and ends of veg i have in the freezer and make a winter veg soup, will chuck in plenty of pearl barley to bulk it out, don't have any garlic but will get DD to grab some when she goes out to buy horse feed later. Also need to dig out some lamb and sausages for tomorrows meals.

  • Afternoon, not sure where the week has gone but i certainly feel as though i have been chasing my tail.

So this week has brought snow which makes things a little harder but the children at work enjoyed it and it was really only a morning of chaos before it disappeared.

Moneywise things have been ticking along although it has been a spendy week. Needed food for baby doggo which cost £30, did a Mr T shop on Friday £66 spent and 66points earnt, DS had also done a food shop for himself and his girlfriend which bagged me another 60 points. Couldn't get everything i needed in Mr T and surprisingly it was frozen bits not fresh, no hash browns, green beans or onion rings so i popped into iceland when i went into town yesterday £8 spent. DH needed some toiletries so he bagged me 54 points in boots.Went into M&S got a couple of meal deals, fish and chicken goujons that i had some sparks money off vouchers for and stocked up on butter and yoghurts as i am finding that they are cheaper than the big supermarkets for these items, used a £5 off £50 spend voucher and using offers on my sparks card managed to knock £20 off the total. Next weeks shop should be a small one as we are stocked up.

Taken lunch into work everyday soup or leftovers, free fruit from work everyday.

Managed a few surveys and redeemed £15 but takes a few weeks to hit bank account, microsoft rewards done and a £5 amazon voucher redeemed. £15 made on an ebay sale. Bought a dress for £6 on vint3d for my holiday in May, fingers crossed it fits otherwise it will be going straight back on.
Talking of holiday i paid the balance on Tuesday used my cashback CC not only for the cashback but also for the peace of mind, money is sat in savings so will pay it off as soon as statement comes in next months.
This months mortgage has gone out including £100 overpayment. Had renewal for landlord insurance through it has gone up as expected but only by £6 for the year so will stick with it.

    Frugal wins-
    Extra points
    money off vouchers
    survey redemtions and ebay sale
    free fruit
    cashback cc

  • Morning all.

Have the mid month slump feeling as not much is happening, made a sale on £bay so £6 sent to CC, I have had a good clear out and listed 30 items but who knows if anything will sell.
Spent £70 this week on grocery shop and used £10 voucher.
    All very boring and uninspiring.

Yesterday DH and I had a breakfast date which was cute, just coffee and a bacon sandwich in a local cafe but was nice to have some time together.
Happy Mother's Day to those celebrating, so far i have been spoilt with presents from DD and the dogs  :D, breakfast is currently being made for me and DS is coming over after work later, as is MIL and we are going to all have a takeaway together this evening. Plans for this after noon are to read my book and chill.

    Frugal wins -
    Shopping vouchers
Tomato and lentil soup using up bits from stores
    ebay sale
    microsoft rewards.
    Surveys
Gift of flowers from a lovely work colleague

50 nectar points, don't know why these have been added to account.
