Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2022 - 1st Quarter

Brambling - I think the worst thing about a takeaway, especially if you are trying to be healthy is not enjoying it and spending money on !!!!!! food. I feel your pain in looking for a Rennie. Hope the cake was good...... hummm cake.
For anyone else who wants a bit of a low cost / few less calories Chinese food. I buy 2 extra tubs of curry sauce when we get a Chinese which is about 2 times a year, for one person I split 2 tubs into 3 portions for the freezer. Don't add water to make it thinner or go further.
Curry and chips - quick tea, SW style chips, even frozen will be less calories with curry sauce on top, I do not think it tastes that much different.
Chicken curry - as much onion and or peppers as you like cut into chunks and cooked with one cal spray, when they are cooked, shove in a hand full or more of frozen peas, 30 sec later add chicken and takeaway curry sauce, add as much as you like.... person I saw doing this would use a pre cooked chicken (supermarket or cold home pre cooked one) and then just cook until curry and chicken are hot enough to eat, no need to boil / simmer for ages. What you have with it is up to you, SW chips or rice in a bag.
I know people use a May. F made at home sauce, but I can't be bothered with that, it's like diet cake / cola, I don't like it.
One thing I do eat is as a takeaway is a chicken kebab, I get a 'large one' - I get the pitta wrapped separately, pitta goes in the bin or Mr Pepper, I make sure they cook the chicken on a BBQ style grill, my local shop does not add much oil, I would taste it if they did, I then chuck the mint yogurt and chilli sauce on it and have as much salad as I can. Not appealing to some but usually half left the next day so cold with salad. When I lost weight (half my body weight) previously and now a chicken kebab for me is guilt free food. Again about 3 times a year, chippy is usually a shared F&C on a day out a about 3 times a year, Mr P eats the main share.
So tomorrow is Thursday which is practically the weekend, if you want to eat / have a treat then have one.... maybe go for damage limitation.
The insomnia is back so further ramblings may happen.

Brunch - scrambled eggs with the last of the bacon
Tea - will be salad and hummus
Does anyone else lose weight from the top down?! I would rather lose weight from the bottom half. I’ve got weird cheekbones (like June “Dot Cotton” Brown) so they’re reappearing and t shirts are flapping around across my collar bones but the tummy and magnificent hips mean I can’t wear a smaller top.7 -
It always seems to come off my stomach first and my bust and back fat clings on as long as possible it's the last to go and the first to be put back on. My top half is current 3 or 4 sizes bigger than my bottom half but then again I've never been able to buy a pair of pjs or a suit unless I can buy tops and bottoms separately which usually works out more expensive 🙄
TBH the 'family shelf' means none of my sisters or I are ever going to be small on top, I remember my gran, mum and aunts all having what seemed to be just the one bust at least I've seemed to avoided thatLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin8 -
Oh @brambling that made me laugh! My gran, mum and I all have/had the same generous bust but I think I had the best of it as I am tallest.Went out for a celebration dinner last night - Chinese hot pot. It took ages to cook all the bits so I ate far less than I would at a ‘normal’ restaurant. My clothes are definitely feeling looser but the scales aren’t looking good. Fingers crossed for Saturday!Grocery Challenge

@Brambling a 1lbs loss for me this week.
We are away this weekend so it will be good fun trying to find things that I am happy to eat, I am usually not fussy at all so my turn to make demands on where we eat this time.7 -

I'll have to share that with my sisters
well done ladies on your losses 👏. Eskarina and Ziggy enjoy your weekends away 🙂
I've managed two good days 🙂 I just need to keep it up, I'm working tomorrow starting at 7.30am then we are working on and off until hopefully 6.30pm or those if things go wrong system whilst it could be as late as midnight fingers crossed 🤞 it wouldn't be. Meals usually take a back seat, Sod's law is we're needed mealtimes. I have a mug of minestrone soup ready for lunch and I've taken beef casserole, braised red cabbage and root veg mash out of the freezer so it will be ping and go rather than picking
