You've bitten the bullet now @Abbafan1972. Don't think about the 5 stone, just work on the first half stone award first. Take the first step. 👍

All I can think of for snacking is to buy in SW friendly stuff and, ideally, don't buy the other. I buy my DH stuff I don't like through the year which means he only gets crisps in the house at Christmas! 🤣

Perhaps if you plan a morning and afternoon snack and then force yourself to keep going with only drinks allowed in between? 🤔

I had a text earlier from my consultant. I think it was for all target members to say we'll get the new books if we go to WI this week or next. I'm working on next week. 🤞

Food looks absolutely yummy AGAIN @bubbs.

I actually saw hard boiled eggs in packs of 6 for sale in our little Coop. I suppose they'd be good in a SW emergency  but.... 🤔

I've stopped buying the snacks @Abbafan1972...it's the only way for me.

It's the reason I'm doing dry January, I don't actually drink very much but when I do it always involves snacks and beige food and if I don't have that ....toast ;)

@Abbafan1972.  Please don't feel ashamed.  You're trying to do something about it now.  You know SW works.

If you have trouble not picking at snacks in the house is this because others in the house want particular things?  Could you buy snacks for others that you don't like so that you won't pick at them?  Obviously the best thing is not to have snacks in the house but that isn't realistic for most of us!

My DH has now got used to only having things in the cupboard I don't like or having things that I will only eat from time to time.

Can you keep some syn free or low syn things in the fridge such as cooked chicken, smoked salmon, carrot sticks, cucumber, cherry tomatoes?  Perhaps make yourself some syn free humus (recipe on SW website) although personally I prefer to make it with tahini even though it means it's a few syns.

If you tell us what sort of things you're picking at we might be able to suggest substitutes which are too synful.

    Thanks all.

    Just been for a walk.

Me and hubby are doing the 1000 miles in a year challenge.  There is a downloadable progress sheet, but you have to subscribe to the magazine to get it, so we have designed our own. Will let you know how we get on.

My worst downfall with picking at things is biscuits when I have a cuppa. We still have lots of chocolate in the house in the form of tins of chocolates and a couple of boxes of mince pies.

Took the Xmas decs down today and had to vacuum, which was hard work and was sweating afterwards, so hoping I burnt a few calories off!

If you cannot walk past the christmas stuff without picking , move them to somewhere else. i have a dish of chocolates on the coffee table, and my god i ate loads over christmas, but now it's out of my system they can stay there.

I was hungry a minute ago so had some cooked chicken, piece of the quiche i made and a banana

@bubbs I know what you mean.  I think you get to a point when you just sick of it all and don't bother eating it any more.

The tins of chocolates left are in the shed - there is a tin of Heroes open at the moment in the house.   I do have some hifi and skinny whip bars to hand that I can have instead, but I must get into the habit of limiting myself to one a day like before and not eating a few a day.  I do like bananas, but we went shopping on Saturday morning and I forgot to buy any.  We mainly concentrated on getting everything for my parents coming for dinner on Sunday. Will have to get some and a few other SW friendly things.

I know I can do this!
