Morning all, another grey day here but at least it's dry at the moment although rain forecast later. It's the last day of "my" week. It will be a new syn bank tomorrow and I really must stick to it as have made the decision to go to group next Wednesday! I know I'm going to be well out of target and probably still have at least 4 or 5lb to get back to top of target range!
Today's plan:
B - breakfast hash topped with eggs - P; S; F
L - smoked salmon or ham & tomato sandwich (depends which I fancy!) - HEB; P; S; 3.5
D - chana saag and rice - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - butter 3.5
Have a good day everyone.

Morning All
I so wish that I got to the point of getting sick enough of the junk food that I left it alone...but, I don't so abstinence is the only way for me
Food today:
B: Fruit, yog, benefit bars x 2 (HEB)
L: Soup: Veg and lentil
T: Chicken dahl and I'll throw some extra frozen veg in for good measure3 -
Dammit, I posted on the old thread! Got back last night, so just popping in to wish you all a happy new year and I will do a big catchup when I have caught up with work. Didn't realise that it had been so long since I had a chance to talk to you.
Did get on the scales last night to check the damage, better than I expected, so that is a good start for this week WI.A smile costs little but creates much3 -
Hi all
Please can I join you? I (re) joined SW in Sept last year and am doing ok so far with 1 stone 10 gone (and a lot more to go) but I could do with an extra supportive boost on here… not sure if I will have time to post every day but will follow along.
First WI after the New Year this evening, slightly dreading it but hoping it won’t be too bad as I haven’t been completely off plan.
thanks for having me along.4 -
Afternoon all and Happy New Year! Have decided that losing weight is not my focus for the year but instead healthy habits. Will be taking measurements as well as weighing myself because I know that with the exercise, the weight may not go down so trying to not focus too much on the scale (but I did put on a bit over Christmas!)
So far 4 days into the year I've been for a 30 minute (at least) walk every day, as well as a daily yoga session before bed. Yesterday I started back on the "proper" exercise and managed to drag myself out of bed at 5:30 this morning without too many issues for another session.
Breakfast this morning was ff yogurt with blueberries, lunch was some of the cheese leftover from Christmas with a slice of bread, pickles, tomatoes and a clementine and dinner tonight is a stir fry using up some veg from the fridge.
Hope you're all had a good day and welcome to all the newbies.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20173 -

Welcome @BadCat18. You'll find this a very supportive thread and often you can get a quicker answer on here than waiting for your next group. Good to have you joining in. You've done really well since rejoining SW. 😊
Hope your trip home went well @Gettingtherequickly. As you were away, you shouldn't have Christmas goodies lying around to tempt you so a fresh start with a meal plan and shopping.
I'm going to bite the bullet next week too @joedenise. I would like the new books but my 8 weeks will be up anyway.
I agree that with some things it's better to go for total abstinence than have it in the house to tempt you @FrankieM. I did that with cheese. Now I just keep grated cheese in the freezer and Primula and Parmesan in the fridge for cooking. I'll choose a cheeseboard instead of pudding when I'm out for a big meal which is much safer than having it at home. Your menu looked a bit sparse to me. I think I'd be hungry with just a bowl of soup for lunch. When I have soup, I usually have a small side plate of salad as well. I particularly enjoy a tin of mackerel in mustard sauce or sardines on leaves with some other salad bits.
That's what I like about SW @ruby_eskimo is that it's a healthy eating programme. I think we all know that most of the synful things should be kept as treats but the plan gives an easy way of working out the balance. Well done for getting back to your exercise so quickly.
I made Bolognese in the SC yesterday and portioned it up today for the freezer. I got 9 portions from 250g of mince and copious veg. It was quite thick too despite no cornflour. I make that about 15% meat and the rest veg and some sauce. We have 200g each portion and there's a small one that I kept out to have on a JP.
I'm back to my dance class tonight, so an early dinner. If I am hungry later I've got cold meat and plenty of fruit to snack on.
Today's EE plan-
B- bacon, fried eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- ham (P), 2 potatoes (F) fried veg, leaves, beetroot (S)
D- veggie chilli (P,S), brown rice (F), cottage cheese (P)
Syns- LTL mayo 0.53 -
