@maman I'm a binger so I have to be careful with anything that could trigger me...I'm hoping that will all calm down eventually, but in the short term I've got to do what I've got to do...
Regards my meal plan, I did have a couple of satsumas after my soup and that like enough. I don't want to eat food just for the sake of it, but I'm not letting myself get hungry...
I was knackered yesterday, so I didn't go for a walk...my friend took me for a walk on Sunday (I sound like a dog!) and even though I'd stressed how unfit I was, she didn't really listen and so the walk was far too long and has had a knock on effect for the following days, which I knew it would.
I'd wanted 10k steps a day, her walk was 20k steps, which meant I only managed 5k at a push on Monday and just couldn't face it yesterday...it's p*ssed me off really...
This afternoon I'm out with one of my daughters and my grandsons so hopefully I'll get my steps in and I'm feeling a bit better this morning
I miss my very first SW group, I've never found another one anywhere near as good. They just seem big and overwhelming and cliquey...certainly not the friendly, family feel they advertise...which is a shame cause I think in-person support is really good.
Food for today:
B: Bacon, egg & mushroom sandwich (HEB), fruit & yog
L: Not sure cause we're out...may just be a late snack of fruit when I get home
T: Chilli, pasta, extra veg, cheese (HEA)
The other HEA will be used for milk2 -
Morning all. I like herbal teas @beanielou a lot, mainly peppermint to help the digestion but also fennel is rather nice too. Have a big jar of various herbal tea bags and just pluck one out at random a few times a day. Also I switched to oat milk in my coffee which to me tastes nicer and you can have more as your HEA than regular milk (depending on the brand).
I wouldn't beat yourself up too much @FrankieM because if you average the steps out, you managed over 10k a day across the 2 days and yes, your fitbit / apple watch won't see it like that, but your body will.
Went for a walk after work last night and it was just what I needed, plus some yoga before bed. Another workout done this morning before a long day in front of the computer. Will aim for another walk (I just try for 30 minutes a day) and then some more stretches this evening. Had porridge for breakfast with blueberries, lunch is yet more christmas cheese with pickles and salad bits and then dinner is pork, courgette and onion in black bean sauce with noodles.

Morning all, it's lovely to see new people and returners. Some nice meal plans - love the sound of your bacon, egg & mushroom sandwich for lunch @FrankieM.
@Abbafan1972 - what sort of things do you like to eat as snacks? I buy the Lotus Biscoff in a pack of 18 x 2 biscuits, they are 2 syns each but because there's only 2 in a mini pack I'll stop at that so that might be an idea (although don't know if Asda actually sell those - I buy mine in Poundland!). Pink n Whites are 2.5 syns but I'm not keen on those they're a bit too sweet for me. If you want savoury things which are also syn free things like pickled onions, gherkins, cooked meats - ham, chicken, roast beef etc.
DH has gone off to golf this morning so I'm going to have a fairly lazy day today! Although having said that I've got the bedding in the washing machine so I'm doing that at least. Also going to make a batch of mixed vegetable and lentil soup, not sure how much but hopefully enough for today and at least a couple of portions to squeeze into the freezer!
Today's plan:
B - cheese omelette - HEA; P
L - mixed vegetable and lentil soup - P; S; F
D - pork steak, roast potatoes, roasted carrots, onions & peppers, green beans & peas - P; S; F
S - 2 Ryvita; butter; Roquefort - HEB; 8
HEA1 - cheese
HEA2 - milk
Syns - butter 3.5; Roquefort 4.5 (may be a bit less as that's how much 25g is but don't think I'll be having that much!)
Have a good day everyone.

Hi all,
Am feeling slightly deflated now - I tried the telephone number given previously for a 12 week referral. Lady was very nice and went through the details, if only she'd asked me my postcode from the off - it's for Northampton only and I live in Birmingham. It's funded by the Northampton county council, I would have to check what is available in my area or get a referral from my GP (which would probably be a mission in itself).
I could only apologise and told her that I wasn't aware it was area specific, I was just given the telephone number.
So are there any vouchers in mags for joining currently?

@joedenise
Sorry, I didn't see your reply until after I'd posted the one above.
I like sweet things rather than savoury. But I do like eggs (omelettes and the like). I can't stand picked onions or gherkins.

Morning all, another cold frosty one here - thankfully no snow!
@Abbafan1972 I'm rejoining my class on Saturday and have heard from the consultant that if I buy a 12 week countdown at £59.50 that will give me free joining (as well as two free weeks already included - pay for ten weeks get two free). I'm in Scotland but assume it's the same all over? Wee bit pricey but in for the long haul anyway! I think there's also vouchers in a few magazines - sorry, don't normally buy these but think it could be Best, Bella and possibly Woman's Own??
Just had fruit and yoghurt and taken potato and leek soup out of the freezer for lunch, dinner is chicken curry with rice and I'll have extra onions and mushrooms with mine.
Have a good day all.

It's a national thing - it was on the SW blog last week.
Made more soup than I thought and have enough for 4 portions for the freezer! Just need it to cool down properly and then I cn get it bagged up.
Visiting my sister at the weekend and she's going to get me some goat from her butchers so that will be enough more food to try and get into the freezer but it's not something I can get locally so it's worth it. This will be the last chance to get it before she moves although could pop over there when we go to visit DD2 so may do that in future if it's good - it's about half the price of the last lot we bought online.

Just thought I'd flag up no need to get hungry @FrankieM because that's what often makes people give up. We've had people both on here and in my RL group who just can't seem to get their heads around SW not being a diet. They fall by the wayside because they want a quick fix and then go back to what made them put on weight in the first place! 🤔🤣 After yesterday I decided to have soup today too. 😁
I agree with @ruby_eskimo that you'll be fine averaging your exercise. Counting steps is a good way to measure but any exercise is good especially if it's wet and cold and you can't get out some days. There are heaps of exercise and yoga videos online if it helps. I had a walk on Monday, dance class yesterday and again tonight and tomorrow I'm hoping another walk. That being said, it's the food optimising that really shifts the weight but exercise is great for lifting your mood and keeping supple.
I can't say I've ever eaten goat @joedenise, at least if I have I wasn't aware of it! 😉
I did have some quiche last night. DD1 brought it round as it was going spare, salmon and broccoli. I just ate the filling so probably not too synful. I hate wasting things so will probably finish it later tonight and then from tomorrow I'll have a clear week to do my best before WI next week.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA1 milk, banana (F), red berries (S)
L- sardines (P), beetroot (S), lentil and vegetable soup (P,S)
D- SW Bolognese (P,S), spaghetti (F), HEA2 Parmesan
Syns- 02
