I'm not sure if I can do this guys, I want to but I am wavering badly.  I've done a day of calorie counting to give myself a breather so I think it will be a mixture of SW and calorie counting.  But I do like hot Ribena

Of course you can do it, one day at a time, I could never calorie count as not enough food for me.

    What is causing the problem?

What are you eating @Its_time that's low calorie but not SW friendly? Perhaps we can adapt some recipes for you? 🤔

    Morning all.

It's very early and I'm still half asleep!  Am going to ring the consultant later, with a view to going to join group tonight (there was a voucher in Bella, that I bought yesterday).  She has a session at 6pm and 7.30pm - I am going to the earlier one.  I finish work at 5.30 (I work from home), so will go straight up there.  I think the later session would just be too much as I won't want to eat beforehand and I will just get back too late. So going to the earlier one makes sense, as I can have my tea when I get back.

I think tonights tea will be pasta, but does anyone have any ideas in the long term what I could have for a quick tea after group on the evening, that doesn't take a lot of prep?

    Thanks.

    Morning

Very early 🤣 I'm up at 5.15 every day , out the door 6.30😱

If you work from home put a casserole in, make a curry or shepherds pie to warm through all you have to do is the veg then

    Bloody cold this morning -5😱😱😱

    Have a good day all

    @bubbs

Yes, it's very cold.  Hubby goes out at 6.30.

Yes, I will have to make something nice.  The trouble is, from past experience, I know the rest of family won't eat it.  It's not that they don't support me doing SW, it's just that mentioning doing anything the "SW way" brings a frown to their faces.

@Abbafan1972 - bubbs has mentioned some of the things that you could work really well.  It's a shame the family feel the way they do and won't support you by eating normal food just cooked slightly differently, if at all.  There's nothing different about a casserole made the "SW way" to cooked normally as far as I can see, the only thing might be if you like to thicken the stock with some gravy granules or cornflour but that's fine as you can just syn your portion.  You can still fry off your meat beforehand if you want to but use an oil spray rather than pouring in the oil (I don't use Frylight I just use a spray bottle filled with veg oil).

Same with shepherds pie.  You can still make it exactly the same as you normally would and then syn anything like butter & milk (or use HEA for the milk).

The other alternative is to batch cook some SW friendly meals and freeze them in individual portions and then just lift one out of the freezer in the morning and nuke it when you get in while you cook some veg to go with it.

Glad you managed to find a voucher for free membership.

Back shortly with my menu plan.

Morning all.  I know you don't have to exercise on the plan but I do it for the added health benefits - being in my 30's with arthritis already, I need to keep strength and flexibility in my muscles and joints where I can to support me and keep me moving as long as possible 😆

@Abbafan1972 Rather than making something after group, I'd just make sure I'd batch cooked some things and have them in the freezer like a curry, bolognese, chilli etc. Just take it out in the morning to defrost and then all you need to do is cook some rice or pasta while it heats up.  I'm a big lover of batch cooking or making sure I have leftovers of things for a later time, it's why my freezer is always pretty full 😁

Very cold here this morning (about -6 when I woke up) but still managed to get a workout in.  Breakfast was ff yogurt and blueberries, lunch is going to be poached egg on toast with roasted tomatoes and dinner is a fish fillet (think it's haddock) with some mixed veg and a jacket potato.  Will bundle up and go for my 30 minute walk later (need to drop some books off at the library anyway).

Hope everyone stays warm and has a good day.
