Good morning and welcome to Tuesday!
Does anyone know of a good dressing I can have on Salad please? Currently I have seafood sauce and count that as 2 syns. I found that we had run out yesterday, so had to have some Nando's sauce instead.
I am not keen on Vinegar type dressings or anything watery.
Have a good day all.
Thanks. xxStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -
Morning all. @Abbafan1972 I use fat free natural yogurt with some mint (either mint sauce or dried mint) and garlic granules mixed in for a salad dressing from time to time and it works well with kebabs too.
Digestive system is all over the place - couldn't face dinner last night because I was so bloated and uncomfortable. Woke up this morning and feeling a lot better but still not 100% and no appetite so lots of water and peppermint tea planned for today and may have some soup later if I'm up to it.

Morning all, very grey again today but still going to get a machine load of washing out on the line shortly. It more or less dried yesterday so hopefully it will today.
Need to go shopping! Was going to do Welsh rarebit for breakfast but DH had eaten all the bread yesterday and don't have one in the freezer!
@Abbafan1972 - I use the Morrison's Counted calorie controlled dressings which are 0.5 syn per Tbs. There are various flavours, I've currently got French Dressing and Honey and Herb. Sometimes I just use balsamic vinegar which is Free.
Glad you're feeling a bit better this morning @ruby_eskimo and hope you are able to manage something later.
Today's plan:
B - porridge - HEB
L - brunch hash - P; S; F
D - sausage and bean casserole; cabbage - P; S; F; 0.5 (there's virtually no sausage left in it!)
HEA - milk
HEB - porridge
Syns - sausage (less than half!) 0.5
Have a good day everyone.

Hope you feel better soon @ruby_eskimo. I wasn't hungry last night either so just had some soup for dinner.
I like balsamic too @Abbafan especially on a small side salad. I have some really syrupy balsamic that I persuaded my favourite Italian restaurant to sell me.
Sometimes when I have leaves I'll just put a dollop of cottage cheese on the side to give some wetness. When I have the tinned Princes mackerel salad, it has it's own mustard sauce so no need for dressing. I think Lighter than Light mayonnaise is worth having. It's only half a syn for a tablespoon. I'm using up a squeezy bottle of Sainsbury's own brand at the moment but have a jar of Hellman's to try next.
To be honest I don't have salad as a meal that often especially at this time of the year. I buy tomatoes, spring onion and peppers as I can cook with those or have them raw and I've always got beetroot open. Have had leaves for a couple of weeks though as I enjoyed them at Christmas.
Not quite sure how today will work out. Will post later. 😊0 -
I've got some of that syrupy balsamic too @maman. I buy it in France and always bring a couple of bottles back. Didn't get any in December so just hoping that the last bottle in the cupboard is going to last until we get back over there in June (assuming we're able to go!).
DH has just told me he's booked us a week in Brixham for my big birthday at the end of March so that's something to look forward to. He's actually been sensible and booked a self catering chalet on a small holiday park which is only a 10 minute walk from the town centre so at least we'll be able to stick to plan for the most part!
I don't buy much salad at this time of year either. Like you tomatoes and peppers as can have them raw or cooked. I've always got jars of beetroot in the cupboard as well. Having said that I've got a lettuce in the fridge at the moment but not used much since it's been there. I can see me buying some spring onions when I go shopping towards the end of the week and we'll have lettuce, peas and onions a la Francais!

Well done on your loss @annabanana82 .
I've had quite a few days of running around like a headless chicken and not really achieving much - but I have stayed on plan. I was really, really tempted to run amock last night after a pretty stressful work meeting but I remembered how I felt on Saturday with that wee half pound on and that kept me in check.
Bran flakes, f/f yoghurt and strawberries for breakfast, just finished lentil soup (I could very nearly stand the spoon in it) and chilli with rice and side salad for dinner,
Have a good day all!

I finished the last packet of crisps today and then that's it...they are such a trigger food for me and I really struggle to reign it in once I start...
It'll be my last food shop of the week on Friday and my budget has got enough in it for me to buy some slimming world meals and put them in the freezer for when I cba or fancy something a bit different from the meal plan.
I've also stopped buying salad for the moment, I usually love a side salad but it's just too cold so I've changed to buying peppers, courgette, mushrooms, onions so I can do roast veg as a side instead.
I'm also struggling with water at the moment, might start drinking peppermint tea instead til the weather gets warmer.
Food today:
B: fruit, yog, benefit bars x 2 (HEB)
L: soup, fruit
T: sausages, roast veg, rice0 -
Evening all 😁
I buy loads of salad 🤣 on my 2nd bag of leaves since I went shopping Friday.
Breakfast, l also had 2 satsumas
Lunch 2 syns for mayo mixed with FF Greek yoghurt
Tea 3 syns gravy

Were they prawns hiding under the dressing @bubbs? 😋
I'd forgotten about spring onions @joedenise. I buy those too. So easy for chopping into omelettes or into my plain cottage cheese on a JP. I use them for garlic mushrooms too, much less faff than an ordinary onion.
Great news that you're off to Brixham. While you have the option of self catering, I'm sure you'll do that 10 minute walk to restaurants too. 😁
Good menu @FrankieM. I don't know if that's enough for you but I'd plan in SW friendly snacks too, to replace the crisps.
I've been dashing about today too @Jellybaby. Didn't get to eat much but stayed on plan, despite being offered biscuits. I could have easily opened a bottle of wine tonight but decided on comfort food instead. We had sausage, chips and beans but I did do some carrot chips, onions and mushrooms to get some Speed in. So just 1 syn for the Aldi sausages.
Back soon normal tomorrow, I hope.1 -
