Well today has been hard, I've been out and about. Bank account said no to Nando's - its been an expensive month.
The rest of the family went to Subway but I wasn't wasting 8 syns on a chicken salad wrap.

So I haven't eaten too well or much and feeling hungry, to make things worse I'm visiting my parents which is where I pig out so really having to battle usual bad habits.

I've tried really hard to cut back on sugar this week but had 6 fruit gums which I regret as I'm craving sweets and chocolate now.

On the plus side I've only had 7.5syns today so I can fill up later
You could have had a salad, or no shops near by ? could have bought some cooked meat, fruit, crabsticks, a wholemeal roll and filled it.
Anywhere that has a hot chicken counter like asda/tesco could have bought chicken and took the skin off, lots you can have :D no need to be hungry

Sorry to hear about your day @annabanana82. For another time, the salad bowl in Subway is excellent
, full of Speed and you'd only need to use a few syns for dressing.

Although finances are stretched, SW doesn't need to be expensive. I'm sure we can come up with cheap meals to help you through the month. 🤔
  • Thank you @maman and @bubbs

I was just unprepared today and no excuse really. Other than a birthday next weekend we have no other plans for being out this month, but some really good ideas for lunches from you both. I'd never have thought about the chicken from the hot counter.

Thankfully next month is going to be much cheaper so I plan to stock up on store cupboards essentials and get practice some new recipes.

What I've really liked is that it's quite easy to adapt our normal meals to make them SW friendly and the whole family will eat the same meal.

I spoke to my Husband about the fruit gums, his take on it was it was a positive and a step towards learning moderation and controlling the cravings.

@annabanana82 you could just have had a salad box from Subway which would be syn free without dressing.

Don't worry about what has happened in the past - you can't change that.  Draw the line and get back on plan.

You can do this.  Just concentrate on one meal at a time.  Are you planning your meals?  It really makes things much easier if you know what you're going to be eating.

  • Feel your pain Bubbs, Mum was’t great yesterday, gp sent her to a&e, found clot on her lung, so keeping her in until it dissolves. Whole thing throws us into a conundrum as we had sorted out flying home so that there is one of us there every weekend. My brother there this weekend, which, other than being able to take her to hospital, has been a waste as he can’t see her, not sure what we can do. Think I need to get all the friends & family to set up a rota visiting her at home, if someone pops in every morning and afternoon, at least she will be seen every day and she doesn’t overtire by having a few in one go.

Comfort ate😳 so need to try & pull some back before Thursday
A smile costs little but creates much :)

In the week and when I'm at home the planning is working well, it's just when we've been out and I haven't thought ahead about lunch is the issue - on the plus side I'm only 6 days in so recognising these things early on is a positive for long term sustainability.

My soup maker is going to be used a lot more regular
