Morning all, need to pop out and get a few bits of shopping - run out of fruit and fresh veg, still got some frozen but it's not the same!

    Today's plan:

    B - breakfast hash - P; S; F
    L - cheese and ham and tomato sandwich - HEB; HEA2; P; S; 0.5
    D - roast pork, roast potatoes, roasted veg, green veg - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - LTL mayo 0.5 (instead of butter!)

Not looking forward to WI tomorrow - jeans are definitely tighter so wouldn't be surprised if I need to lose more than the 4lb I thought I'd put on, just hope it's not as much as 1/2 stone!

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, well done on the loss @beanielou.

Had porridge with blueberries for breakfast this morning, lunch is going to be some leftover chicken stew from the weekend and dinner is pesto pasta with some mushrooms and green beans in there I think.

Hope you all have a good day!

I'm still working through the batch cooked meals in the freezer, which is making meal planning an absolute dream :)

    Food today:
B: Fruit, yog, benefit bars x 2 (HEB)
    L: Veg & lentil soup
T: Chilli, rice/pasta, roasted veg, cheese (HEA)

The other HEA is for milk

I've dropped my daily steps down to 5k, with the idea of building them up...but I'm struggling to get myself out the door when the weather is chilly :(
  • Morning all! Had a bad Saturday, was walking but not usual long one, so ended up wandering around the British Museum as the weather was a tad manky! BUT, we went out for dinner, let's just say there were syns involved and I am back on track :) The apple watch is a great incentive, so have set myself targets and trying to achieve/beat them daily, but it is difficult to do working full time, can, and will, only do my best.

Trying to mix my meals to see if that will confuse the metabolism, yesterday had chicken salad for breakfast, potato & leek soup for lunch and paprika chicken & veg for dinner.

    Have a good one :)

At least you've recognised what the problem is @BadCat18. Hopefully you'll still lose at WI but resolve to make a plan next week to have SW friendly snacks or none at all. I know SW consultants can be quite prescriptive but I think we all have to find a way of making SW work for us.  Although officially you can eat whatever you want within syns, I think some things are best banned.

Last night, I found myself snacking on some cheese. Wensleydale with apricots, it was just so yummy. The cheeses are there because DH fancied some for his lunches after Christmas so we bought more. Fortunately I have plenty of syns to spare and it may count as a HEA anyway. I'll be glad when I get back to my usual just Parmesan and Primula in the fridge which I'm not likely to snack on, although I do sometimes squirt some Primula on celery.

Football tonight so half a Crunchie is likely. I used to just have a taste but DH insists I have my fair share. I'm going to count it as 4 but as the size of bars seems to shrink regularly it could be less.

I like cottage cheese with my chilli @MrsRyan. It's like having syn free sour cream but I suppose a thick yogurt would work.

I'm far from convinced that I'll be in target range this week either @joedenise but I do hope neither of us are too much over. Good luck to everyone else yet to get back to group.🤞🏼

    Today's EE plan-
B- scrambled eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- cold meat (P), vegetable hash and pickles (S)
D- veggie chilli (P,S), brown rice (F), cottage cheese (P)
    Syns- chocolate 4
  • Hello - I'm joining if OK? I'm on the Frugal thread too as have dug my books out and just bought a 12 week diary/tracker from eBay to go it alone/frugal style. I don't drive and all the v local to me meetings have closed down, and I really hated the app last time I tried it so hope writing it down will work.

I weigh 189lb as of today. Interim target of 170lb but will still be overweight at that :(

Off to find SW friendly cauliflower cheese recipe for tea

Hi All, I'm another who can't have treats in the house, not even SW friendly ones!  If I know something is in the cupboard the worm in my head goes round and round until they're gone.  Youngest DS is hoping to move out this year and I'm focusing on all the positives - he's finally spreading his wings and has a job he loves, and I'll save a fortune and not be tempted with all the snacks he likes!

The last 45g  ;) of bran flakes with strawberries and yoghurt (0.5) for breakfast, just thrown a ham salad together for lunch as really busy today and dinner tonight is DS's speciality chicken Teriyaki with rice (will need to check the syns for honey etc).

    Have a good day all!

Welcome @beckstar1975, everyone is welcome on the thread.  Feel free to post your menu plans for the day if you think it might help to keep you on track.  Also if you want to check any syn values, as they do often change.  @bubbs posted recently about changes to some of the Chinese takeaways!  It was a big difference for one of the chicken dishes from 8.5 up to 12.5 (sorry can't remember exactly what it was!).

@Jellybaby - there's a teriyaki recipe on the SW website which comes out at 1 syn per portion so might be worth a look, although only isn't too bad at 2.5 syns per Tbs (or 1 syn per tsp).

Welcome @beckstar1975. 😊 It's perfectly possible to do SW without going to a group especially as you have books and have done it before. As you've mentioned the app, then it was probably quite recently so you'll know about the 2 x HEAs. 🤔

I make a cheese sauce using HEA milk and cheese and a tbsp of cornflour. @joedenise uses a packet mix but I'm sure you'll find a recipe that suits without too many syns.

Do ask if you need any syn values as they seem to be changing regularly and rarely for the better. ☹️
  • Hello back

I am not surprised about changes to syn values, especially Chinese they really didn't seem to tally.

I'd forgotten the gnawing hungry feeling, suspect it might be lack of fat. Having to have stern words with myself (and likely up protein too to see if it helps).

B No1 (I take painkillers as soon as I wake so need to eat a little) -v small bowl slow cooker porridge (1/2 HEXA, 1/2 HEXB 1 Syn sugar)

No2 halogen potatoes, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes (1 Syn for sauce/spray oil)

L- left over paella (2 syns)

    D-SW cauliflower cheese (1.5 HEXA, 3 syns)

Snacks -malteser biscuits (5 syns), toast (1/2 HEXB), L Cow light (1/2 syn)

Body magic - 35 mins walk, 30 minutes workout
