N night Bubbs 😂2 -
Morning all, a full day on plan today (hopefully!) and low syn as need to rein in some syns after the weekend! Looking to be a nice day so going to get some washing done and out onto the line. One machine load in at the moment and another to do after. Still leaves some in the wash bin but not enough for a full load so it can wait a few more days.
Today's plan:
B - egg sandwich - HEB; P; 3.5
L - vegetable and lentil soup (from freezer) - P; S; F
D - sausage cassoulet; cabbage - P; S; F; 1
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - butter 3.5; low fat sausage 1
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all. @bubbs, you always make me hungry when I see your pictures; I've already had breakfast but now I want waffles!
Just popping in quickly today: had scrambled egg on toast for breakfast this morning with a clementine, lunch is going to be leftover split pea soup from the weekend and dinner is HM vegetable kebabs with chips and salad.
Hope everyone has a good day!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20172 -
Morning, your food pics are fab @bubbs! How do you make the potato waffles? I bought a silicon waffle mould from Amazon last year but have never used it.
I have a quick walk at lunch time with a work colleague that has been postponed four times now, either due to work or weather getting in the way. It's tipping it down at the moment so kind of hoping she suggests putting it off again!
Just about to have breakfast bran flakes (HEB), raspberries, strawberries and yoghurt (0.5 syn), tomato and red pepper soup for lunch and fish, SW chips and salad for dinner (4.5 syns for breadcrumbs).
Have a good day all!1 -
I don't really come on over the weekend so loads of posts to catch up on
I love seeing what people eat and @bubbs, those potato waffles look awesome...I'm all about the savoury here so they are definitely my kind of thing!
Had family over on Saturday night and we had a roast dinner...lots of different elements made by lots of different people so definitely some syns in there, but I side stepped the chocolates afterwards and (due to dry January) no wine syns either!
I was given some orange smarties for Christmas - from my son, meant for last Christmas, so out of date. Thought they'd be okay still, so got the syn value...but, no, no good.
Some syns used but some saved
A shame though cause orange flavoured stuff is my favourite and I really love orange smarties.
Apart from that, I've been on plan and not really having a problem sticking to it.
I used to have side salads with every meal, but this winter have discovered roasted veg as a side and it's been a real game changer for getting extra veg into my meals
Food for today:
B: Fruit, yog, benefit bars x 2 (HEB)
L: Broccoli and pea soup, satsumas
T: Pork pasta, roasted veg, cheese (HEA)
The other HEA is for milk for hot drinks.2 -
Forgot to ask...I'm out for lunch on Thursday (the day before weigh in) and I'm trying to decide whether to go to a Hungry Horse or Harvester.
Hungry Horse do a Steak and dressed salad, but that seems to really be the only choice...
Harvester have steak, rotisserie chicken, chicken skewers (these are my top choice at the moment)....as well as their salad bar and they do golden rice as an option instead of chips (I'm assuming that's low syn?)
What do you think?
Does anyone have syn values ...or just an opinion?2 -
@FrankieM - I've checked the website for you but the golden rice isn't coming up as an option but for what it's worth I'd say the rice would definitely be a better option than the chips!
Of the 2 I would think the Harvester would be the better choice as you'll have more options. Enjoy whichever you decide on!
