Morning all, looking a reasonable day today so going to get some washing done to clear the washing bin again!

@bubbs - you do need to pay on the phone unfortunately for the TGTG bags.  Do you have a PayPal account?  If you do you can pay on your phone using your PayPal account which is what we do as DH has an account.

Good luck for WI @maman🤞.  If you do go out of target I think you'll need to book holiday for the weeks you won't be there as otherwise you'll need to back pay as far as I know.

    Today's plan:

B - boiled eggs, soldiers - HEB; P; 3.5 - change of plan:  kedgeree so save 3.5 syns!
    L - stuffed mushrooms (from the TGTG bag); salad - S; 6
D - liver casserole, mash, cabbage (which we should have had last night!) - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - stuffed mushrooms 6

Planning on making a goat curry today as that's another meal that's better reheated.  There should be enough to get another 4 portions into the freezer as well (at least I hope there will!)

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning!

Raining here and only 10 degrees! 🥶 We have pre-ordered mussels at a restaurant for later. They normally serve with a bread basket but I’m going to ask for side salad instead.

Have just have 0% Greek yog, blueberries and a sprinkling of high protein granola.

DDad and stepmum have late breakfast 10-11am and lunch at 3-4pm. After that maybe some snacks - last night was marshmallows and rice cakes. I abstained - was doing my cross stitching and watching The Stranger on Netflix having just read the book. Keeping busy!

    Good luck for WI @maman

Love mussels when we're in France but they're not easy to get where I live.  Tesco and Morries sell them but they always look like half of them are already dead!  I bought some several years ago in Tesco and when prepping them out of a Kg we had less than 400g that were still alive!  Definitely not enough for 2 people!  I rang Tesco and they just said to take my receipt in and they'd refund the money but they didn't want the mussels back!  What a surprise!

Well done of avoiding the rice cakes and marshmallows and keeping busy with your cross stitching.  Do you have anything you could snack on when your Dad and stepmum snack in the evenings?  Or are you OK with just eating twice a day?

I’m getting used to eating twice a day. There’s fruit if I want to snack and I’ve been having a Hi Fi bar every day too.

There’s a lot of history with my stepmum and we haven’t always got along, so visiting is always quite tense. Don’t feel I can just raid the fridge IYSWIM?

Thanks for the good wishes. They obviously worked! 0.5lb off and still in target range! 😁 I'm delighted as it means I can have the busy coming week with lots of 'good when I can' meals.

I'm another that loves mussels @Coxy11 but, like @joedenise, tend only to have them in France or in a restaurant here. There will be syns in the sauce but not massively and it does depend how much of it you 'drink'. I do understand that you can't just help yourself in someone else's home but you're doing really well and it's good to know that the fruit bowl is to hand just in case but rice cakes wouldn't have been too bad an option either.

I stayed to group but attendance was poor. The venue is excellent. It's a brand new community complex but, as they're getting more successful at attracting business, the parking is inadequate. My consultant thinks it puts people off attending, maybe even driving up and not staying?? I wouldn't do that, even if I had to double park and rush in for weigh and go but it's something to think about. I could walk there, if needed, and with the price of fuel I might be doing that next time🤨.

Image Therapy was about low syn ideas for when you're in a rush and lots of Aldi products to help save money. She featured pouches of flavoured rice which can make a nice lunch especially when some chopped up veg added. I like the Essentials (Aldi's Smartprice range) Golden Vegetable rice which is great cold with salady bits. Consultant recommended adding HEA feta to Mexican style rice which is about 50p. Another idea was making meatballs from the half syn skinny sausages.

I had my usual WI day Weetabix breakfast. We're out for lunch then I probably won't want much for the rest of the day although we've a (rearranged from Covid) match tonight so will have half Crunchie. 🤣

Well done @maman for that 0.5lb loss and still being in target.  At least you can enjoy your meals out without too much worry.  You've got 8 weeks again before you have to weigh!

Wish I was back in that arena!  But it is what it is and I know I'm going to have to book holiday for the end of the month.  Have decided I'm going to book 2 weeks to give me half a chance of losing what I put on while I'm away!

    Well done @maman

After a wet and windy start here DDad and I managed to get out for a walk along the coast. I was wearing a T-shirt, sweatshirt, zip up fleece and waxed jacket - couldn’t make it up 🤣

We went for our mussels but there had been a mix up at the port so I ended up having grilled calamari, grilled veg and potato purée. Sauce was lemon, garlic and pine nuts so syns there plus the mash. I honestly was so hungry by the time it arrived (5pm) I could have eaten it twice.

We are now home and I’ve had a tea with a Hi Fi bar. We also bought some Syrian baklava - I had a couple of pieces but will take the rest home for DH and DS2.

Won’t eat again tonight, will just have cups of tea.
