    Hi everyone from Cyprus!

We are two hours ahead here. Only just had breakfast (retired life!!). I had 0% Greek yoghurt with a couple of walnuts, some flaked coconut and a tiny amount of vegan granola.

Yesterday I had 2 hi fi bars (one at home and one on the plane), a banana, a pot of Pret fruit salad then stepmum had made soup with vegetables and a little lean beef. I also had a little basmati rice.
Tonight we are having octopus! If it swims it slims right?!

Forgot to take my magnesium tablet yesterday and was really uncomfortable with belly ache so have already had it today.

@MrsRyan good that you’re off medication. I hope things settle down for you xx

We are off for a walk - bank holiday here so only supermarkets are open. I have shorts on but it’s only 17 degrees so a bit chilly!

You sound bright and happy @Coxy11. Good to hear from you. I love the 'if it swims, it slims', I've not heard that before.😊

Off to a flying start  to the week @ruby_eskimo and @Jellybaby with a Monday menu plan. I was only thinking yesterday about all the positives of menu planning. Sticking to SW plan is an obvious one but it's really mse too as I have almost no food waste at all. I can do my shopping very quickly because I know exactly what I want too.

I had a look at the butter chicken recipe @joedenise. I keep most of the ingredients in stock but not all, especially fenugreek leaves. Also I don't buy butter, just spread and usually use tinned tomatoes rather than passata as I prefer the texture. Did you make any substitutions? 🤔

I'm out of my current favourite rye bread. I like Lidl's best because it fits in the toaster!🤣 My list for Lidl is growing but with the shock of filling the car yesterday I'm going to manage for a couple of days not make a special journey. I have some Aldi wholemeal so might have a sandwich one day. I know HEXs are highly recommended as they're healthy  but they're not essential so going without a HEB will be fine for a day or so.

    Today's EE plan-
B- scrambled eggs (P), fried potatoes (F), HEA milk for drinks
L- beef stew (S,F). (I think I ate most of the meat yesterday!😁)
D- baked salmon (P), SW chips (F), carrots, spicy cauliflower (S)
    Syns- 0

@maman - I don't buy fenugreek leaves either but do have some ground so used that.  I don't use passata very often but used some a while ago but not the whole box so had some frozen so defrosted that and used it.  Like you I normally use tinned chopped tomatoes (I like the Lidl ones as they don't have much juice in them!).  DH uses butter so I do actually use the butter but if I didn't have it then I'd probably just use spread or even the buttery Frylight.  I don't honestly think the passata is necessary as it all gets blended in the sauce anyway!  The only other sub I made was chilli paste rather than chilli powder.

You're brave @Coxy11 wearing shorts in 17 degrees!  Still no doubt it is sunny so it's good to get some fresh air and sunshine on your skin.  I can't wait to get away for a holiday in the sun!

Slight change of plan for dinner. We had grilled trout, salad and chips(!). I only had a few chips - DDad and stepmum ate the rest! Also avoided the fresh baked bread basket so taking that as a win 😊

I don't know what know how Mr Bubbs could like chicken but not turkey. 🤔  Hope he did eat it.

Great day of food @bubbs (as always), hope it's seeing off those fish and chips ready for Saturday's WI. 🤞

Your meal looks great @Coxy11. I love trout but haven't had it for ages. 😋

We had salmon tonight, YS from Tesco. It was really thick and meaty. Yum. 😊

Morning all, looks like it's going to be a nice bright day today although still very cold.

I'm another who doesn't really like turkey, although I will eat it if it is given to me.  I just don't buy it.  Having said that I'm thinking I might try and get a turkey leg and make a curry with it as I think the meat will go a very long way and the taste be disguised by the spicing!

    Today's plan:

B - American style pancakes; yoghurt; frozen fruit - P; S; F; 0.5 (these were really nice and will definitely be making again)
    L - stuffed peppers - HEA2; P; S; F
D - toad in the hole, mash, cabbage, green beans, peas - S; F; 6.5

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - oats
    Syns - baking powder 0.5; flour 4.5; sausages 2

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, I love turkey but only eat it at Christmas - possibly due to having to eat it ten days straight to use it up

Beautiful day here today again - cold, crisp and sunny just how I like it.  I'm about to put lamb mince into the slow cooker to make fake away kebab for dinner tonight.  It's a Slimming Eats recipe I've tried before and DS loved it.

Bran flakes (HEB), f/f yoghurt and raspberries for breakfast again, pea and ham soup for lunch and I'll have some of the kebab with loads of salad for dinner.  Won't have flatbreads and will work out syns for my portion as I'll need to weigh it.

    Have a good day all.
