@maman - I used the SlimmingEats butter chicken recipe.  I didn't add quite as much chilli as suggested as I was using a tube of it which I haven't used before and wasn't sure how hot it would be so decided to just use the equivalent of 1/2 tsp rather than the 3/4 in the recipe but it would definitely have been even better with a little more heat.

Wow to those Yorkshires!  Are you going to freeze the extras?  We like them cold with jam, syrup or honey but of course extra syns!

I've booked holiday for grace week before it just meant that the following week I had to pay because hadn't weighed so the computer decided I was still out of target - at least that's what happened at my old group.  However my new consultant said that shouldn't have happened!  It should have let me weigh and then sent me back to pay if I was still out of target.  Apparently if you have a long break, ie longer than 8 weeks, as long as you're still in target you won't have to pay.  Haven't put that to the test though!

Have got all my veg marinading in the maple syrup, lemon, cinnamon & rosemary ready to go in the oven later.  Potatoes are being roasted separately as don't really want the whole dinner to be sweet!

    Afternoon all
Feeling a bit fed up. Had a sneaky weigh this morning before WI tomorrow but it’s really disappointing. I’ve been an absolute saint this week but the loss it’s showing doesn’t reflect that- it’s not even last week’s gain. Still struggling with being bunged up and the stuff the GP says is all I’m allowed isn’t working. I’ve told the GP this but they’re not being very helpful.

It’s starting to really get me down. I’m hoping that next week with a bit of naughty food and lots of moving around London that might help- I’m pretty much at the end of my tether with it now. On the upside though my blood sugars are good- they’re quite steady and although they’re at the higher end of normal they are normal. I’m not a slave to testing anymore- I’m testing first thing in the morning and last thing at night as the nurse asked me to for two weeks, but I’m not having to constantly test as I used to.

    Today’s food:
B: Bacon, egg and tomato sandwich (this was lovely! Real comfort food) (HEXB+4) HiFi bar (3)
L: Mackerel, couscous (0.5) veg. Berries, yoghurt, Choc shot (1)
D- Chicken, spuds, veg. (2 Syns for mayo) Chocolate (4.5)
    S: Popchips (3.5)
    Syns: 19

Have a good day all xx

@MrsRyan - you've been through a lot recently with sorting out your sugars so just give it time.  Weight doesn't come off every week as we've all found from time to time.  We know that SW works but just not in the ways we would like!  I've had weeks like yours where I've been absolutely angelic and still not lost but sometimes it's a case of inches coming off.  Have you checked your measurements?  Perhaps you've lost a inch or two rather than losing weight.  It's not just the number on the scales that matter!

    Stick with it.

I’m back from my trip. Had a good time but eaten everything that has been offered 😳
I weighed in before we went and had 1lb loss so that gave me my 1/2 stone. Hopefully, I can claw back the weekend indulgence before Friday morning. I’d love to shift some more before we nip over to Spain at the end of the month.
Just about to concoct a moussaka type tea as our veg box delivered us 3 aubergines last week that need eaten. I’d picked up lean lamb mince from the butcher before we left but sure it won’t be 5% - more syns 🙄
    Back on plan properly tomorrow!
@MrsRyan, I get discouraged and surprised in equal measure. For me, it seems to show the following week (whether I’ve been good or bad) Eventually your hard work will pay off!

    Afternoon all

Maman you are really into these yorksires now 😂

Mrs R, i don't get why they have told  you test morning and evening , you are supposed  to test before you get up as your sugars change as soon as you stand up and then 2 hrs after food to see if what you eat raises your sugar and that tells you if it's affecting you what you eat.

Well i have been busy, made pate, crsutless quiche and a load of burgers for the freezer.

I had ham and cheese spread egg wraps, half of 1 hexa.

Tea we have roast turkey, will see if DH knows it's not chicken 🤣 it's a crown in the freezer that has been there about 12 months and needs eating!

🤞 for a loss @Matron_Midge. Good to see you posting again. 😊 I love moussaka. If you're happy with the recipe, you could always try it with beef sometime.

Hope you get some 'movement' soon @MrsRyan. That sounds like it isn't helping. ☹️

You're right about the Yorkshires @bubbs. I don't know why I didn't start making them before now. I've had your low syn recipe for ages. At the moment @joedenise, the extras are in the fridge. If I don't snack on them, then I'll put them in the freezer.

You're back in the swing of your menus big time @bubbs, all set up for the week. 😊

Meant to say we had the first lot of burgers I made for lunch yesterday.  I liked them but DH thought they were a bit dry.  Think I might add some finely diced onion next time I make them but that won't be for a while as there are another 8 in the freezer and I've still got some of the butchers ones in there too!

I always put onions in my burgers @joedenise and sometimes chopped cornichons and/or capers. 😋 It doesnt just make them more moist and tasty but the mixture goes further. Every little helps. I filled my car up this afternoon. It wasn't even empty and it cost £75!!!☹️

Thanks @maman.  Will also try some chopped cornichons as well as onion next time.  I got 10 4oz burgers out of 500g pork mince/500g beef mince, worked out just over 60p each so a saving of 15p a burger over the butchers price.

DH put just over 1/2 tank in his car when he picked it up on Tuesday and it cost over £70 with 7p/l off at Morrisons!  My car needed about 1/2 tank as well and that was nearly £40 with 7p/l off.  We also filled the motorhome up last weekend with another 7p/l off voucher and that was another £80 so it's been a very expensive month so far on fuel!  Prices are getting absolutely ridiculous! At this rate I can see it being £2/l before long 😨.
