I've used eucalyptus oil to get car oil stains out of DH's shirt in the past, but I don't think it was me who suggested it to you originally @PipneyJane
Thank you for the nice comments on my top. I'll try the flesh coloured bra trick and let you know...
Today I've altered the front of the second skirt that was sticking out at the front and looked awful. I unpicked the waistband and the gathered bit, flattened it out, made a couple of pleats beside the side pockets and stitched it back together. I'll feel much happier wearing it now. ☺2025 Fashion on the ration

A wrap around apron is what I need as I do tend to wipe my hands on my bottom (not literally
) it is also wider at the top and like they used to do whip it off and away they went all clean!
It will also add a little layer in the colder days too to keep us a bit warmer. MMmm on a mission now for another route at the car boot. Love the dignity lunch/dinner shirt idea.

I'm a hopeless case, because I don't often remember to wear an apron when I'm cooking, and then I often find I'm rubbing floury hands down my jeans. You're right @2Scratters, one of those wrap-around aprons would probably be the only thing!

@PipneyJane, I may be the guilty party for mentioning eucalyptus oil to get grease off textiles: we used it when we went caravanning and my sister and I used to climb over the tow bar, inevitably sometimes getting black grease on clothes. Nowadays I sometimes put a couple of drops in the washing machine drawer when washing bedding or towels as I understand it's mildly disinfectant and also leaves a nice fresh smell. I seem to remember reading that's its poisonous so needs to be used with care.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I've bought some yellow sandals. They seem to be made out of some sort of memory foam and lots of velcro, but they do go with the dress and they aren't a) completely flat, which I hate because I get stones kicked up into them which then travel forward to the soft 'palm' part of my foot or b) impossible heels or c) too tight over the instep to get my size-three-but-wide feet in (because velcro = adjustable). Actually it's like walking on a very comfy marshmallow platform. I feel terribly extravagant and off ration though, as I don't think they'll mend.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining

Your sandals sound very comfy though - and maybe you will find some way to mend them with yellow ribbon or a contrasting colour when the time comes - and the internet says there are repair sprays available for memory foam.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
