@Laura_Elsewhere, thank you again for the information
, I will investigate the bridal net. It isn't a constant problem but when it is the lavender and lemongrass do seem to help. Having said that I do also occasionally have to rescue bees from both the bedroom and the conservatory and once had to prevent a wasp that was attempting to build a nest in the airing cupboard
Also it occurs to me the dreaded moths might be able to gain access and after the last attack I am quite determined to keep them out! I still regret the loss of a lovely cashmere cardigan though most other things have been rescued.

Well I found the sewing machine I had forgot where it was hidden. I think my £1 dress looks quite well. So much so a frog came out of the bag with repairs in it and another item was sorted for wearing using the sashiko method on the blouse. There is now a pair of linen trousers about to get some thing similar done and a cashmere "tank top" is pinned up ready for a sashiko make overAnything is better than nothing-check back and see

Laura_Elsewhere said:I have to be all glom and doom but I really can't emphasise enough that essential oils need to be diluted correctly, or you risk developing a sudden major reaction which can cause hospitalisation.
I used them neat or in very strong dilution for years and years, especially lavender, and now think I'm ruddy lucky to have got away with it. I even one friend who has to be careful about what she *eats* because she ended up with a reaction that includes a range of plants inc cinnamon which of course is in masses of foods - and that is from using essential oils in too-strong dilution, which had been no problem for years and then bam, massive problem. And more than one friend who has the skin reaction problem.
Tisserand have done a really good safety page. https://tisserandinstitute.org/safety-guidelines/
And never ever put essential oils in a bath - that's a great way to get undiluted EOs onto some of your most delicate skin, yikes!!!
Wise words @Laura_Elsewhere. Can’t be emphasised enough.
Thank you for the link.

@2Scratters, well done on both counts, the dress looks great and I still don't know how to upload a photo
. Any chance you have a photo of the repairs?
Take care everyone2 -
@Liverpool_Anne thanks. I will have another try at the repair picture and an upload. Check out Seshiko on the bay of auction, there are jeans that are for sale at over £500
The repair is towards under the arm on the back. I used another piece of linen. My blanket stitch is a bit back to front as I am left handed going in the direction a right handed person would. 1st time I've done that stitch in donkeys years
So I have decluttered 2 items from the repair bag and 2 more are out of the said bag one is pinned up ready to have its makeover and the other is awaiting some threads (left overs) from a friend who does stitching.

@2Scratters, well done again
, I checked out some of the stuff on the bay of e and there is a whole world of craft stuff I am going to have to resist
not to mention all the lovely antique japanese jackets which I think are absolutely wonderful. I was very taken with the ones they made on the sewing bee as well. I saw some being made in Japan on the tv, iirc it was when Joanne Lumley did a travel thing there. It was amazing.

Good morning All
Well, I have finally decided what to knit next. (I finally had the brain space to make a decision.) It’s a Sirdar pattern for a strappy top, designed for their latest cotton-acrylic DK blend. https://www.blacksheepwools.com/products/sundowner-sessions-vest-in-sirdar-stories-dk-digital-version-10536 Ironically, it is not listed on Ravelry. I am using some ancient Sirdar Calico DK that I bought from a hospice charity shop for £1/ball in 2013.
Why did I pick it? I just wanted to knit something in pink and, every time I looked at the stash, the balls of this yarn kept mocking me.

I've just realised I probably didn't post the finished crocheted shawl that I made from stashed yarn bought a few years ago. It's acrylic, pink, beige and white and I still have several balls to make a cardi some time.
This one got worn to the evening of my daughter's wedding and was copied from a commercially produced one I was given in 1981.
