@Cherryfudge That shawl is lovely. I really need to get back to learning how to knit, but I seem to be brain dead by the time I get home most days.
2023 Fashion on the Ration: Start with 66. Nightdress - 6 = 60 remaining.5 -
I did a dumb thing with my woolen dresses (they're fine, I promise). They all needed a bit of scrubbing due to dropping food on them. Rather than clean out the kitchen sink, I decided to just scrub them in the bathtub. 2 days later, my backside is still sore from the bending. Won't do that again!2023 Fashion on the Ration: Start with 66. Nightdress - 6 = 60 remaining.5

I know just what you mean about learning: my projects often get shelved till I have the mental energy to get through the difficult bits! I forget where I read it but I have seen the suggestion that people have an easy project and one that takes attention, both on the go at once. Such a sensible idea! I like to have something to knit or crochet that makes me think and learn new skills, but I also need to have something that I can work on while watching TV or to take my mind off something that's worrying me or if I'm tired.
Sorry to hear your back is suffering! I hope the dresses came up nicely.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Just back home from seeing Mamma Mia! There was 'an old lady' on stage at one point and I said to my friend, 'Do you think she's supposed to be crocheting?" She was poking a crochet hook in a poor little doily sized bit of crochet but not getting anywhere! We had to laugh! The lady who made the crochet has a mention in the credits.
The show was fabulous though, and our little group thoroughly enjoyed it. Would recommend for anyone needing a but of a laugh.2025 Fashion on the ration

Thanks for the earlier advice everyone.I am also crocheting Walter the Tortoise, my brother bought it for me as a birthday present. All sections crocheted, now to start sewing up.
Cherry Fudge your shawl is so pretty - well done you.Pip / Laura, I think it was either one of you who mentioned soaking your porridge oats the night before rather than doubling up with oat milk. Thank you. We are saving a small fortune.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

@Gem-gem, soaking oats is def one of my hobbyhorses - glad it's helping
And @Cherryfudge, every now and again I get stern with myself and make a list of six projects, one simple and one demanding for sewing, for crochet, for sewing, and then make myself Get On With Them - it's very good for stopping me procrastinating!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

He is gorgeous! You are a very good crocheter, I think. I'm glad that you are also feeling better.
I have two spends, another bra, and a new dress to wear in this exceptional hot weather, which is the only time I wear skirts and dresses. Best described as an outsize sack with sleeves in a linen/viscose mix, that fits where it touches! So that is 8.5 coupons. Signature has been amended.
Hope everyone else is keeping well, and managing to stay cool.Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.
Fashion on the Ration - 27.5/66 ( 5 - shoes, 1.5 - bra, 11.5 - 2 pairs of shoes and another bra, 5- t-shirt, 1.5 yet another bra!) 3 coupons swimming costume.5 -
@Gem-gem, that tortoise is enviable. I am tempted, tempted...
I knit the Tom Kitten from S!mply Knitting magazine when I had Covid, I wonder how many other projects have been made while recovering? (Incidentally, if I've not mentioned it before, I borrow knitting or crochet magazines online from the library for bedtime reading and would recommend it as a way to relax!)
@Laura_Elsewhere, how is the sundress coming along?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
