Not at all.  

The blue is very dark, but the red/pink might be the way your screen is adjusted, either in settings or the angle you're viewing it. (It's more or less a Schiaparelli pink, to save you wondering).

@Cherryfudge, Lovely hat. I like how you have finished the top with a sort of Pom-Pom, but much nicer. 

Today, I have been turning cross stitches that I made in 2021 into Mother's Day, Father's Day and sibling birthday cards. 

Would embroidery threads have been rationed? 

I am now going to go through my colouring book - to see if I can turn any of those into cards.

@Gem-gem - embroidery threads wouldn't have been rationed but wouldn't have been easily available - almost certainly the factories would have been turned over to making eg uniforms, or if imported then that would have stopped... so you'd be keeping an eye out for anyone turning out cupboards, hoping they might turn up next week at the WI saying, "can you use this?"

Thanks Laura. Most of my threads came from a large stash that my Mum had in her cupboard. I did by a couple of colours from a shop that had just a few left over from people buying them to make Christmas things. 

Sadly, a very special aunt died in early October, she did loads of cross stitches. I am hoping that  her grandchildren will not want her embroidery threads and I can have them. We were very close. I used to ring her up at least once a week and stay with her for a weekend every other month. When I used to stay we would cross stitch together.

@Gem-gem those embroideries are beautiful.  I hope the recipients of the cards love them.  I am sorry to hear about your late aunt, but glad you were close.

I guess it’s time to declare how we did this year.  I’ll kick it off….

I am declaring at 85 coupons spent, an overspend of 9 coupons.  (I brought forward 10 coupons from 2021.)

Hello Pip, thanks for your kind words. 

I have topped your spend but not in a good way. Total 130/66. Overspend of 64 coupons!!! But 48 were wool, 20 for the poncho that I am still making.

Well I have actually bought more clothes than I realised this year, but I'm proud to report that they have almost all been second hand. Total including a fabric remnant adds up to 41 coupons. 
Definitely need some new boots next but I'm going to try and buy less next year, even second hand.

One of my oldest friends was diagnosed with sleep apnea a few years ago.  Things he wasn’t expecting after starting to use a CPAP included his blood pressure dropping and weight loss.  All due to being able to sleep soundly throughout the night.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend's diagnosis. Sleep apnea can have serious implications if left untreated, so it's great that he is taking proactive steps to manage the condition. It sounds like the CPAP machine is having positive effects on his health overall, from the lowering of his blood pressure to the weight loss. It's encouraging to hear that he is already feeling the benefits.
