Having just returned from the pub where I spent the evening with good friends I’m reminded of the importance of the people who love and support us. So on that note wishing you all a happy, peaceful and joyous festive period.

Happy Christmas to you all! From a houseful of sniffelling, coughing, red-eyed patients - myself included! But all on the mend now, though we did have to cancel my mother's visit - she & the other residents of the home are too frail to risk, and my brother was feeling too grotty to drive her up here - but we've all pulled together & coped!

Ooh gosh, extra good wishes to all those currently stricken by assorted lurgies! We're ok (....so far...!) but I know people all over the country laid out with Covid, with flu, with a particularly vicious cold that's going round...

Thanks, Laura, we had a lovely quiet day yesterday, and went to see Dad for an hour or so. He liked his presents. We bought him a teddy fleece blanket to sit on and wrap around himself to keep warm. He doesn't make enough new blood cells himself so it's harder to keep warm. He liked his other gifts too, so that was good!

Add another 10 coupons to my overspend.  I’ve just bought 2 polo shirts from the 2022 Commonwealth Games store for £5 each.  (They are closing shortly, so get in quick.)

Thanks, ladies, we're well on the mend here now, though OH, worryingly, is still coughing. It seemed very quiet with just the 5 of us here yesterday, and there's a small mountain of turkey to eat up/freeze/en-soup-ify! But the phone lines and the pile of lockdown games kept us well-occupied. I'm hoping to be well enough to pick Mum up tomorrow & take her down to my eldest brother for lunch, but will have to check with the care home staff that they think that 6 days from the start of the cold is acceptable.

No coupons spent here, though spending my birthday/Christmas money on a pair of "barefoot" walking boots is niggling away at my mind. That said, they're competing with a new hoe so may well not win!

Looking ahead a little, and having failed to keep up with my coupons this year, I'm thinking of making a physical tally. Has anyone made themselves a little ration book where they can actually clip the coupons? The alternative would be a note in my signature, and you can all see I'm a natural at that (er, not).

I did spend some time back in September trying to find what I'd actually spent through the posts on here but that was on holiday and I never finished the task.

What works best for you, please?
