It's not as bad as you think Laura - I think you were so surprised by that square meterage that you forgot to square root. Your patchwork is going to be a very reasonable square of 13m down each side. I'm sure there are lots of uses for such a patchwork. It would be just the thing for a lovely sunshade at the village fete if we get the weather this year. :-)

Pip going cold sheep for the whole of 2023 - I'm not sure such a radical action is wise. It may be too much of a shock to the system!

@skogar, with books and wool I am setting myself a no buy till June, giving me five months to read and crochet and the to evaluate the situation. I'm just telling myself that the ministry has commandeered all wool and paper for the war effort for the next five months. Did anyone else see the information bulletin in the village hall?

Excellent idea @Gem-gem.  Although I think “no buy until July” sounds better with the rhyme.  I may sign up to that, too.  I have far too many books and e-books waiting to be read.

We’re just watching The Snowman and the Snow Dog before heading of to spend Christmas in the West Country with my in-laws.  Since I won’t be back in the village until the 27th, I’d like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  (I’ll keep an ear out for any news bulletins, but may not be able to respond.)

Being in the corner of the village nearest to Yorkshire, I will be having Wensleydale with my Christmas cake.

Mmm Wensleydale!  I think my resolution for 2023 should be not to start any new projects until I’ve finished some of the half-done ones. 

Thank you all for your friendship, advice and encouragement this year. I’m looking forward to more chats in the Village Hall. By a minor Christmas miracle I have got a ticket for the Nine Lessons and Carols at Kings College this afternoon (not the one being shown on TV, that was actually recorded a few weeks ago). So I’m off to begin my celebrations with some wonderful music.

I have visited Wensleydale. Enjoyed going around the shop after and trying loads of different samples.

Just popping into the hall for a quick cuppa, before final preps for tomorrow.
May I just say some HUGE Thank yous for all the support I've had this week. Very very much appreciated.
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and very best wishes to everyone for the new year. 
NB. Dad is managing ok for now. We'll take his presents up tomorrow and not tire him out too much or he'll fall asleep on us!

At the moment, we are also having lots of things going on within our family and having to provide lots of support and help. 

It certainly makes you value life and good health more. Just like they would have done in WW1&2. I wonder how the families coped with all that life throws at them plus the horrors and hardships of war on top. 

With 40 minutes left till Christmas Day. I would like to say...

Happy Christmas to all who celebrate it and to those who don't, I hope you manage to spend the time enjoying yourself and doing what you like doing.
