I think the house that needs work sounds interesting as long as you get it for a fair price. My sis just bought a do-er upper but should end up with a great house at the end.
It would be worth finding out what the listed status will mean for your plansAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Grate the frogs and use them as toppings, if it means you get through them, or it will stop them getting fatter!
Keep up with the counseling, you've still got a lot going on and it's not yet the right time to go it alone.
Sell the searches and report, offer to meet them somewhere to hand them over so you can pass on any other relevant information if they ask.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Sell the searches, definitely. You won't be able to sell the survey.3

Thank everyone
@mark55man my host is indeed lovely. It is a treat to stay here and spend time with her. Re 'the inside story' on the house sale, I'm happy to give that to them for free
@Skint_yet_Again and @peb my survey says it is for my sole use so I don't think I can sell it outright. Will have a think and look for a way around if it becomes an option.
@savingholmes a do-er upper can work out well, just need to see if it is the best way forward for me, depends on price I can get it at in part
@MovingForwards and @mark55man the counselling has ended as there are a set number of sessions and counsellor not allowed to accept private. She has given me many contacts for low cost counsellors so I am going to explore those. They all have long waiting lists and typing this has highlighted I need to do it before I go so my waiting is done elsewhere! If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Frogs still hopping around from a few days back...
- sort out where money is held for more interest
- chase hmrc AGAIN
- chase missing document
- dry clean coat and jacket
I chased HMRC yesterday but after holding 45 minutes I gave up.
Today, I've been on hold 35 minutes on the HMRC line. Hold music is playing as I type...
Later today I should be able to get rid of the chase missing document frog.
Today I need to- chase fee
- meet a creative work deadline
- send a form related to interest
- write to HMRC and go to the PO
- chase missing document
HMRC just terminated my call with 'thanks for calling goodbye message' and I'm neither surprised, or overly disappointed. I don't have the energy to react! I will write to them today and send a signed for letter instead.
This post is a bit...well bitty, but that reflects where I am. Going to keep plodding
Wishing you all a good day today

Do they have online chat facilities? Might be easier to reach them.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3

Hi dia, I was advised to phone HMRC at0800 to get through more quickly and it worked for me.Hope your weekend viewings are interesting.3
-
Great news that you can sell the searches.
Hope the viewings go well"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
House buying in England sounds mad. Think I'd be living in a van if I had to live there! Hopefully the right place comes along3
-
Thanks @MovingForwards and @maggiem, I do usually phone at 8am and that has worked for me in the past so will try that again. Leaving until 8.30 didn't work.
Thanks @jwil my solicitor hasn't come back to me about the searches so I am not banking on it...
Thanks @WelshmansDaughter you are absolutely correct, the house buying system needs overhauling. A van right now sounds quite inviting...
So, where am I with my list of things to do?- chase fee
- meet a creative work deadline
- send a form related to interest
- write to HMRC and go to the PO
- chase missing document
The viewings did not happen due to a train strike so they are rearranged for a weekday. That would never have happened before. The expectation would be the properties would go on the Saturday. The times are changing...
I have got on track with healthy eating over the past few days after seeing the scales climb. Half a stone is not as hard to lose as a stone. Now I'm older I don't let it get out of hand...
Feeling a bit meh today but trying not to give the negative feelings too much attention!
I will listen to a few wellbeing podcasts and maybe do the form related to interest this evening.
Hope everyone is ok this weekend.
