Your EA will have had this situation before.Given the length of time since your offer was accepted, and no movement from the seller, then it's understandable for the buyer (you) to plan for the sale falling through because the seller can't find anything they like. The EA also have a duty to the sellers of the other houses to show them to any prospective buyers. It might be time to have a quiet word with the EA and explain that you're worried that the seller won't find what they're looking for and you'll be left high and dry, so want to continue looking... just in case.I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Thanks @Brie It does take forever but it is still early days. As you say, I will keep looking
Thanks @MovingForwards yes the timing is good in terms of affordability. I had found a way re finances and would have gone with it to secure the house. But it is true, a small loan suits me much better
Thanks @beanielou
Thanks @Chrystal That its such a helpful post. If I see something I like I will indeed speak to the EA. To be fair nothing has come up that I like quite as much so I 'will keep my powder dry' for now...I like antiquated turns of phrase today it seems! If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Today I have tackled 2 techie frogs. Not bad as they have been jumping about for a long time...
I have been on a NSD
I have had to contact my referees to let them know a reference request is on the way.
I hand washed some woollens and they are drying in the brilliant sunshine.
I've been thinking ahead about my new job. I will need to be in the city one night a week as I will be splitting the role into 50% WFH and 50% in the office. I plan to stay with family/a friend once a month on a rota (there are 4 names) I will also take one of the office days off every 5/6 weeks and just have 1 day in the office that week, so no overnight required.
I've been looking at fares. It will cost me £50 a week, sometimes less if I am lucky with an advance fare ticket...£200 a month then... Obviously this is thinking ahead as for now I live in the same city as the job so it isn't a problem! The job is well paid so should be ok.
I hope to get some work done later tonight as I have been spectacularly unproductive from a project point of view. Ah well...
Edited to say my journey was delayed for over an hour so I am entitled to 100%of the outbound ticket and 50% of the return. I will do that online today before I lose the ticket!
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine

Well done on tackling the frogs and great news on the refund for the delay (however annoying it must have been!)"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3
