  • The Red Cross is a good place to start for the wheelchair. They do rent them in certain circumstances so might be worth getting one of your relatives to give the closest branch  a call

all sounding good on the house buying and very sensible to keep your options open xx

Hi DIA - I am glad you have others to help with this relative.

It does sound like you like me need to practice your own self care at the moment. It sounds like you are finding small ways to do that.

I think you can self refer to Adult Social Care in your area for an assessment.  Thay have been brilliant for me and grab rails etc fitted for no cost, if your relative is of retirement age you maybe able to claim Attendance allowance   Hope this helps

do you or the relative or other family members have any connections they can call on?  I'm thinking of organisations such as SSAFA if someone was in the forces or Bank Workers Charity if the relative worked for a bank.  maybe something union or industry related??

these organisations will have grants available that might help.

Our local town has a charity which rents out equipment like wheelchairs etc for a nominal charge so is  there one locally which will help for your relative?

Good call on waiting for your vendor to sort our her onward purchase before proceeding with the expense of BS or searches.
