Thank you. I know you are now very happy where you are and I enjoy reading about your life in your new area. The bungalow could work. If it is meant to be it will be.Skint_yet_Again said:I’m sorry to hear you didn’t get your first choice, wishing you luck with the bungalow. I loved the first house I offered on. The vendor reminded me of my dad, his wife had passed away and he was moving in with his daughter. Then he had a stroke, the property was withdrawn and my plans totally changed to a different area to be nearer my dad. Fate, destiny, meant to be? I don’t know but I have grown to love my new home & I’m sure you will make the bungalow your own.
Thank you. The bungalow is still in the picture for now.jwil said:Sorry to hear about the house. Hopefully you'll get a good response from the bungalow.
Really good point about future proofing. Thank you for sharing your experience.Debsnewbudget said:We live in a dormer bungalow but after 20 years we are looking for a full bungalow due to dh falling down the stairs and my knee causing problems coming down stairs.
Not sure how old you are but have a think about future proofing your next property especially if you don't plan on moving again.beanielou said:Sorry about the house. Hope the bungalow grows on you.

Thank you I agree there are so many opportunities in the new area to be activeMovingForwards said:Sorry the house never worked out.
With the bungalow would it be possible, financially viable, to have the loft converted, with a dorma?
As everyone else has said you're future-proofing by not having stairs, there's plenty of walking / beautiful places to visit which would keep you mobile / active. Therefore, keep that open mind when having another viewing.
You have grown a lot since we first "met", a strong mind has formed and great ideas / plans made.
Thank you. The price is currently a little high but I understand they are open to negotiation. I'm of the mind that health is THE most important thing.savingholmes said:I hope that the bungalow price is reasonable - within your budget - if that's your favoured one.
Glad meanwhile you are investing in your health. That's important too.
Thank you for dropping by, The pain is a shock really. Horrible, but hopefully on the descent.WelshmansDaughter said:Belated welcome back DIA.
Don't have anything to add on the house discussion as well, I think very differently to most people on well, everything.
But I'm sorry that you're having a hard time with it all. The pain sounds horrible.
Thank you for the good wishes. The bungalow is number one due to it being the only one! I do think it has great potential however.DaisyCheerings said:I''m so sorry that you didn't get your first choice of home. On reflection, did the bungalow jump to No.1 or do you still have reservations? It does sound like you could make it a lovely home if that's the one you can see yourself living in for the foreseeable future.
I hope you've also been able to move forward on managing your pain. It's shocking how much that can bring someone down when there's such a regular pain issue going on. Wishing you well doingitanyway.
I have found the pain draining and tiring. Hoping it is on its way out!If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

So my last post was a week ago. Since then I've had a long weekend away in the countryside. That was good but pain restricted my activities

I've since had a visit to the osteopath and also the acupuncturist. Both were very helpful. I had another session of acupuncture today and I floated out of the clinic. My pain meds were every 4 hours and yesterday I had none and today just one lot early morning, so I am getting there. When pain levels were exceptional I called the GP again and now have an MRI, blood tests and a physio appointment all within the next few weeks, so progress is being made.
MSE wise, over the counter heat pads, meds, prescriptions, complementary therapies etc are impacting my funds but I feel fortunate to be debt free and in a position to help myself. Before being debt free the complimentary therapies, so helpful for pain relief, and for their immediacy before the NHS kick in to action, would not be possible.
I am still ok until new funds appear in my account and I will not have to touch savings this month.
House-wise I have a second viewing booked for the bungalow on Saturday. No other houses have appeared over the past few weeks.
Hoping everyone is okIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Good to hear you now have appointments to investigate the pain after having to fund your own alternative therapies. Although it’s great news the pain has eased thanks to you being able to afford to pay for them, you shouldn’t have to 🙁
Fingers crossed for the second viewing 🤞

It's great being able to have these private therapies and would be worth calculating if acupuncture and / or others are viable as general maintenance when you're better or have a diagnosis.
Fingers crossed for the visit.

Glad you've got some appointments to investigate the pain, and hope it continues to ease.

Really good that you were able to invest in your health - with the alternative therapies and getting the NHS route started.

My pain levels go back and forth, but ultimately better than they were last week so I am still hopeful. It has been expensive and that is a shame but I don't regret the spending. Once I settle I see myself having a monthly treatment like a massage for example. Something for me to think about...
Today I had the second viewing. I went to the area very early. It took me 30 minutes to walk from the station but I took the long way. Going back it took me 20 minutes. Not too bad, especially as I dawdled due to pain levels. The new house is 5 minutes from the park I love. It is 10 minutes walk to the seafront and to a lovely South American cafe.
I had some luck today as I saw a man going into next door. I thought he lived there so I asked if I could ask some questions as I was going to do a viewing. In fact he was the workman who had done work on the house I was viewing. He told me the house had sound windows and no damp so that is good news. He was going to coffee with neighbour once removed. She was lovely. I asked about floors. Both she and her neighbour have original parquet floors!!!! Would be wonderful if the house I like has the same under carpets/vinyl/boarding. She was really nice. The immediate neighbours aren't there all the time but keep the house in the family. The area was so peaceful.
EA was awful and late and spoke complete BS, which I found difficult. I thought of @mark55man and held my tongue and tried my best to keep them onside. I will talk to the negotiator (who was not in) on Monday and submit an offer. The property has been on the market for 2 months but is overpriced. They are chain free as am I hopefully we can meet at a price point we are both happy with. Time will tell.
In other news my expensive acupuncture has resulted in me having to take £200 out of savings. So, my brilliant savings level this month is down. I intend to make up this shortfall by the end of the month...
I hope everyone had a good Saturday.
