Welcome back. Glad you had a lovely time away. Fingers crossed the perfect home will be found soon 🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Thank you everyone
Back from the countryside. Today has been showery, then overcast, then almost Spring-like and now cold and cloudy again. So, a typical English day then
I made another attempt to use an old account so I can siphon off food and discretionary spending from my main account. It feels odd using cash now and this will be an online account that I can monitor easily. I've been very nomadic lately, but I should be using the same amount for discretionary spending wherever I am. So, I need to get used to a set budget for spends and resurrecting the old account will help. This should be up and running before I leave for Scotland. I will report back.
I have increased my monthly mobile costs by £2. I get almost double the data for that £2 Most months I rarely used the existing amount, but when I am away so much on rare occasions it can go over. A small amount for peace of mind, whether needed or not.
I am chasing a small DB pension where they are saying I worked for 18 months less than I did. I produced a payslip (luckily I had one) about 5 years ago, and they said they would amend my pension. Stupidly I have shredded it and now they say I have no proof. I contacted HMRC who may be able to provide the payroll number despite it being decades ago. I sent a 'signed for' form to them today. I hope I can resolve this.
I hope everyone is having a good-enough day.

I hope you can resolve the pension. How frustrating."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

It's so lovely to see you back. I missed your posts.
The pension situation sounds irritating, but I also agree that you sound mentally recharged after your break. I hope the right home comes up for you soon. I have noticed near me that so many houses are coming up for sale again. They do sell relatively quickly but not as fast as they were doing during the pandemic and just after. I really admire your willingness to wait for the right place.Debt on 01 July 2022 = £42,083.00

Is it worth doing a GDPR/subject access request to the pension company if you know you previously discussed this with them? I'd be specific that you wanted all recordings, file notes and any email exchanges. My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++
