The cups and saucers sound lovely. I spotted a set in a CS yesterday that I'm considering going back for if they are still there.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Possibly feel short changed as it wasn't that good, whereas if it was better you probably wouldn't have noticed the cost.
Everyone needs great C&S to drink from and it appears a bargain was bagged.
Enjoy the concert 😃Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Glad you had a nice time away. The cup and saucers and new lunchbox sound like purchases that will bring you joy and also save money so well worth it.
I agree that £30 on a day not really enjoyed seems a lot more than the same amount on a day that was great."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
Thank you @savingholmes @MovingForwards and @jwil
I seem to have been away for ages...
I did not get the job so that was another of life's little knocks. There was an aspect of the job I was dreading so maybe just as well...
Loads of family stuff but I am handling it well.
No new homes. I nearly cracked and started considering something that really would have been too much of a project. After showing it to a few people, they were worried so I haven't gone for it. The hunt continues...
MSE wise I am £100 short of my savings target for the month. Having a target concentrated my mind. I have cheated a bit as I am including interest in that target. The aim being to grow my actual savings by a set figure a month.
I am going away for the week, but taking food with me again, as shops are aimed at the tourist market with silly prices. Trying my best not to overspend. Trying not to fritter so the money is there for important things.
I will be doing a creative project whilst away.
Looking forward to time alone as usual
Hope everyone is ok.

Good to see you back, sorry to hear about the job.3

Sorry to hear about the job and the house hunt.
Enjoy your week away.
Good luck with your savings targets, I don't think it's cheating to include interest, it's adding to your balance anyway."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
Thanks @WelshmansDaughter @savingholmes
Thanks @jwil I am going to include interest without feeling I am cheating
It has been two weeks since I logged in here.
Since then I have had a week away. I have been trying to get away every month for a week but the option I have been taking, despite being mates rates, once I add in fares and food, costs me about £250. Too much. I can't afford it. The universe must have heard me as as soon as I decided this, up pops 3 weeks in May for free. I will be completely alone
I transferred to savings today, at the start the month, instead of doing it at the end and transferring the leftover. This way I am forced to stay in budget, plus I get the whole months interest.
House hunting continues. They are going on for more. Seems to be a strategy of putting on higher but not selling and them being open to negotiation. Going next week for the first time in a few months. There are a few I am interested in. The one I looked at a few months ago is hugely overpriced and still there. Having a second look anyway. Another few to look at too.
Jobs? A new application in. Will keep plugging away.
Volunteering talk, has led me to think again of a project I wanted to do. I've listed it on my things to do. I'd like to use my creative skill and teaching experience to offer something at an organisation I've come into contact with.
Health wise...not the best but in the past 2 days I've restarted TRI 16:8 and already feel better.
Also started doing press-ups as my upper body strength is rubbish.
Doing squats after meals if I don't do a quick walk, as a little activity after meals helps blood sugar control
I have an organic veg box now, but only once every few weeks. The one that came was really good and loving using it
I've been off frog eating but I have a new notebook and will be listing at least 3 frogs a day to eat until they are back under control.

Three weeks away for free sounds good , but will it interfere with house hunting and possible job interviews. Veg box sounds good , I am nearly vegetarian at the moment , I don't enjoy meat very often.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3
