here is the link to the Peter Cook sketch Humdinger1 was talking about - http://www.faculty.ucr.edu/~currie/frog.htm

The menu bit is about half way down.  It's not so much that it hasn't aged well - it's more that the sketch was a little green around the gills to start with

    To do list
I need to buy a spray bottle and some magnesium
I will make some soup for lunch
I will buy some ground almonds (baking a cake on Monday)

Veggie curry for supper so looking for a swede I can mash to go with it. I need to avoid the dreaded white rice as it is very bad for blood sugar control. didn't make a curry as got loads of YS salad so had that instead!

Did ok with yesterday's list  :)

Today helped housemate clean the house then off to the creative club to eat a frog for a friend. Another one that has been hanging over me for months. Done now  :)

Nice being at the creative club but takes ages to get here from where I live now. Expensive too for fares so took my flask to offset coffee costs.

I've seen a house in exactly the right area. It hasn't gone because the shower room is off the kitchen and the floor with 3 bedrooms has no bathroom, not even a loo. It is the same basic house as the one I lost but they had put in a big bathroom in the smallest bedroom, making it a two bed house same as the one I lost. Also the dining and living room are separate and I would want it knocked through. Will see it next week. More work than I would have liked, but doable, if they are willing to price negotiate. If not I will wait. The right house will come along

Hope everyone is having a good day.

  • Well done taming the frog population and going to the club, while offsetting costs.

The house sounds interesting, on paper a fair amount of work, but with the potential to be what you're looking for.

Everything is crossed for the role.

All your frog-eating inspired me to go and see if the rare natterjack toads had been tempted out by this afternoon's sunshine. Not yet, but it was a very pleasant walk through the pine woods and back along the very sandy path which ups the exercise quota. They usually emerge around late February/early March.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

I stopped at 18 with the nephews. You have to draw a line somewhere.
