Evening
Had a lovely catch up with a friend as we walked by the river. Got drenched on the way home! Decided to have a bath to warm up and finished my book. Then went on a trek to a CS, local ones didn't want donations so i went further afield and donated a big bag. Was going to call at Mr T on way back but missed the turning so carried on home - achieved another NSD
My bedroom is a complete tip so have decided to try to tackle a bit at a time and maybe sleep in DD2's room in the meantime. Have dusted and decluttered my bedside table, recycled receipts from 2018 that i found in a shoe box! started a bag of books to sell online or at a nearby bookshop (apparently you can send a list of the titles and they say if they want them and how much they will pay).
Having a chilled eve listening to R2
Gratitudes - lovely catch up with friend who shared some worries and said i was a good listener; eating from stores; getting washing mostly dry on the line

Today I am grateful for a morning walk to stretch my legs, for a good book, for the 6 nations starting next sat, for DC having vax #2, for my dark purple crocuses poking through.

Mothernerd can your bank open you an executors account (pretty common) and transfer your mum’s money there .
then you can pay expenses from it and it will provide a record and be separate to your UC11 -
Took mum to town, had a nice look round and got some food shopping. Visited charity shops and got 4 books and mum got a lovely grey/white jumper. We joke about her grey fixation as her wardrobe contains about 6 grey jackets, looking almost identical!
Mothernerd - Your local charity shops must be so pleased with all your donations. They'll be a big help to people who need them, especially with everything going up in price.
Deni - How fantastic to be spoilt for choice with theatre shows! You can't beat them. How to pick which one?! Mum and I went to see the musical 'Boy in a dress' in March'20, just 2 weeks before lockdown. What an experience and then everything closed. Enjoy your trips!
Used some of the money I saved in Jan to have my car washed, the first time since summer. It was in a terrible mess as driving to work is very muddy. I struggle to clean along the bottom so it was worth it. Very pleased now Snowy is white again! MOT on Thursday so want him to look tidy.
Ordered more test kits and they arrived by post today. Still testing negative although my friend's son is now positive as well.
Gratitudes: nice time shopping with Mum, getting my car washed and a lovely veggy pie from Ald*. X

NSD, not sure if it's 15 or 16
Had written a to do list yesterday. Today I painted a wall & set up a Just Giving page to raise funds for a local kidney patients group, so was able to cross those of my list. People that donate £5 are entered into a draw to win one of the bears that I make. I've called her Hope, & said she is a nurse who loves to put smiles on her patients faces. She's a great friend & loves to walk her dog on Scapa Beach'.
Read some more of my book, unpicked more coat zips to be replaced & did some knitting.
Grateful for getting jobs done, good books, & helpful advice re fundraisingUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

What a month it’s been! It’s not been the January I’d planned. The three of us (OH, DS, and I) are covid positive. I have moved our holiday by a week - we have 9 days to be clear of the virus in order to be allowed on the plane. I have no nails left on my fingers.I think I’ve managed maybe 8 NSDs this month. I have saved like a ninja for this holiday and have a decent budget set aside. But I’ll be aiming to come home with some of it.I’ve set us a daily budget and I will be trying to keep our spending down by eating breakfast and some meals in our accommodation, taking packed lunches with us some days, our own snacks, not buying needless stuff etc.Diznay iz nay a budget holiday but I’ll try keeping my ninja head on.2022 is an important year in my life and this holiday is one of my ways of marking it.It’s the year I feared I wouldn’t see when I was diagnosed with an extremely rare brain cancer in 2017 having just had DS. The radiologist told me ‘you will see his first days of school’.So here I am 5 years on. It’s 2022 and this year I will be 5 years clear of cancer, OH and I will celebrate 20 years together, we will take DS to Dizny, and I will be with him on his first day of school.

Good Morning ⛅
On the Naughty Step for me, because I logged on to the February MSE yesterday to sign up, then forgot to come on here after my day with the folks to check-in. Add to that me doing shopping for my Dad and some thinks falling into my basket for me (which will be out of February's budget) and I am in the dog-house for sure!!! There - my conscience is clear - I have confessed my crimes haha. I used a chunk of N*ctar points so got a lot for free, and was all staples that I am not allowed to break into until February... oh except the 3 slices of toast I shoved in my face from my February loaf haha. Don't make me eat the granola <potpourri> again pleeeeease!!! Haha.
Yesterday I was grateful for:
1) Time spent with my parents
2) A nice blustery day
3) Someone watching over me as had a near miss on the roads
Felt a little blue yesterday after seeing Mum as I always do, but had a few nice smiles, and she made me laugh. She was eating Dad's wine gums he took in for her, and I found a stash of jelly beans in her lap under her blanket she the carers must have given her. She kept that quiet! Little minx haha!!!
Yesterday = NSD number 22 still.
I'll pop on later to do today's check-in/gratitudes 😉😊
PS Idee2111 - just saw your post - think we must have been typing at the same time. You're a little miracle - and life has other plans for you! Such great news 🤗⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Good morning all
ldee2111 - i hope you get to dizney and it is everything you dream of; your post was very moving
Thrifty - that bear is adorablelovely way to raise money for charity
Esmerelda - I do live near lots of theatres but they can be too tempting !
I've checked my Jan budgets - was over on food/cat food/household budget but it was a bit of a guestimate. I also had DD2 home for a week and then bought her some food when i took her back to uni. I was slightly under on petrol. I've done a budget for Feb & transferred some money to my savings.
Won't be a NSD today as planning a cinema trip.
Have a good day turtles
