Coming to the end of an interesting month on the financial reflection front. I have managed 14 NSD’s but still managed to spend £412 on food for 2 which l need to bring down. I have done a no spend on clothing month which was hard for me but lm going to carry that on into February. I’ve also decluttered the garage in January and it now resembles some order
more decluttering need in February 😂. TBH not a bad start to my year.

I renamed one of my accounts ‘holding account’ and put my wages in there until the end of the month. If I didn’t, I’d be too tempted to spend them.NST 🐢 & MFW 🤸>> MFD was: Jun 2040 MFD now: May 2029. morning turtles
Managed another NSD yesterday, may just crawl into double figures ...?
Had a frustrating day at work yesterday with deadline pressures, people not responding on time, a meeting that didn't happen as the other person didn't show up; then did some training for my PT job which was as clear as mud, sigh. Went for a walk after work and tried to empty my mind and enjoy looking at the beautiful red sky.
Went to my friends for a meal in the evening, had a lovely time with great food and fab company Also got excited about lots of theatre possibilities but will limit myself to a maximum of one a month!
Glad it's the weekend and have enjoyed a lazy morning reading in bed. Have got dishwasher and washing machine on the go at least!
love Deni

Grateful for visiting a local ENglish H3ritage site and the person in the ticket office being a school mate of ds1 - so we both got in for the proce of one. I have an art card and he was presumed a student. Thanks nice person. We had a lovely stroll in the house and gardens, but didn't make it to the far side of the pond.

Good evening
A spendy day for me today. I don’t need to buy anything for the rest of the month and it is payday on Monday so have paid next month’s bills (which are not paid by DD) with what was left in my acct.
My sister unexpectedly bought me a coat today. I mentioned that I liked a coat she had on a few weeks ago and today she delivered one the same to me, which was very nice of her.
just looking at next months budgets based on what I have spent this month, and have identified where I can cut down more.
I’ll be back tomorrow to update on January progressI hope everyone is having a peaceful day.

mothernerd, sending all good wishes. So glad to hear the funeral went as well as it could. Hope you are looking after yourself
I have racked up a couple of NSD's in my absence, one left to go fo the target. I have sorted out credit cards, paid tax bill, done some knitting. Made a big batch of slaw, a lamb casserole in the slow cooker and dinner in the oven / prepped.
Been super tired today and mostly rested / potterred. really should have vacuumed and mopped.
Grateful for
- spotting i made an error in my knitting and sorting it
- a relaxing day
- cozy flat

Spend day today. Went for a riding lesson (pre-paid Christmas gift) and then met a friend for lunch, which was budgeted for. Spent about £20 so came in under budget. I think I'll have about £30 spare by the end of the month, which I'll put aside for physiotherapy.Save £3,000 emergency fund #79 - £1,805 as of 04/248

Made myself go out this afternoon. Taxi to my house then took 2 x bin bag bedding and curtains + 2 carrier bags (1 pots, 1 oddments) to local cs (nearest to my house), bought new toothbrushes (soft plant bristle, bamboo handle, 99p each) and a few other bits. Checked my bank balance, posted a notice through mum's dentist's door and then did a small shop in Icyland (only had two bags and the walker which limited things nicely). Checked where cars are allowed to go near the 3 charity shops at the top end of the shopping area (top end not pedestrianised).
Had other errands but had had enough so called in at the taxi office and asked to be picked up at home - wanted to leave the walker there (have one here) and pick up the last few cans of caffeine free coke. Nearly fell over when I looked at the balance on my account. I closed mum's account on Monday and made arrangements for paying for her funeral. They said they would transfer the money for the undertaker into my account when I had the final bill (had an estimate). However they have put all the money from mum's account into my account, which means 1) When I report it, my UC claim comes to an end and 2) it's not 'my' money until I've gone through probate - I'm just holding it as a trustee of the estate. It's very strange, I had to have a sit down and a think.
Been relaxing ever since I got in. Want to go to church tomorrow but not sure about the timing.
Grateful for food variety (frozen turkeys are on sale if anyone's interested - wasn't room in my basket), feeling relaxed (took a while to get the kinks out of my back - now I've got Autumn Almanac in my head), taking pasties and cake to DS3 and Beloved. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8
