I second the Frys stuff - their chicken style strips are good! Oumph is pretty good, beyond are really nice but as others have said, a bit pricey. I like Linda M's mozzarella burgers as an alternative. Quorn do good chicken nugget style alternatives. There's so much out there these days! (Feeling hungry now I've written about all this yummy food).
NSD today, had a nice lie in again (twice in 2 days, almost unheard of!), then went to see the pony followed by a swim. Had a couple of small jobs to do around the house and have been reading as well. Luckily my back is much better today.
Have downloaded some free brain training-style games to start playing on my commute as well as a language learning app. Hopefully I will actually get into a routine and make use of them!8 -
Today I am grateful for ice to skate on and to put on my bump, for dh willingly doing all of today's driving, for yummy fruit salad, for a good book, for watching Encanto again.

Abundant, Foxholes, lcc, thanks for the veggy recommendations. I'll definitely try a few different ones to find something I like.
Sister, niece and toddler came over for belated Christmas dinner now that they are all clear. It was lovely to see them after nearly a month but I must admit the house was upside down when they left. Why do toddlers always find the most dangerous things (poker, oven, plug sockets) so interesting despite boxes of toys?!
NSD#4 today! Wanted to pop to the charity shop for a quick look round before lunch but family turned up very early and blocked my car in so hence the NSD! Probably a blessing.
OH spent time pointing up brickwork piers so that he and neighbour can fit new shared fence. This will give more privacy as existing wall is only 3ft high so everyone can see into the garden.
Work tomorrow, hope I have the nice job I had last week. If not, I'll just have to make the best of it and think of payday!
Gratitudes: 2 very funny squirrels running and climbing in the garden, seeing my family, lovely dinner/pudding and better weather.
Wishing you all a good week x

P.s. Thrifty, hope you soon feel better and your hubby remains clear.
Ditty, give yourself some tlc and extra rest as it sounds an emotional time.
Abundant, you're doing great looking after your mum and dad but make sure you do the same for yourself.

This is an amazing group of people, nay friends. Sending hugs to Ditty & Abundant, & well done on the extra nectar points ☺️ good luck for tomorrow Foxholes & thank you for your wishes. Thank you also BeanieLou, hubby was diagnosed with renal failure last spring after always being healthy, it was a big shock! He's currently on dialysis 3 times a week, & is going for tests next month, ready to go on the transplant list.
Re clobcard points, I have been using em to buy treats, stuff towards sproutmas or last time, to buy new LED lightbulbs to replace the bulbs we have. Thought they'd reduce the energy bills, as well as being free, so win-win!
Sorted through my bookcase today, have put books that I've read & want to keep into a box to go in the shed until we extend our house. Saves nearly knocking them down whenever we go through our bedroom door. Tidied the top of my chest of drawers too. Listed some books on eboy. Finished a great book & started a jigsaw that I found lurking in a corner. I've also inspired a friend to start tackling her bedroom. She's offered me 3 lots of things, I've said no to 2, so quite pleased with myself!
Grateful for a friend popping a t0bler0ne through my letterbox with 'You're a Star' on the side, great books, jigsaws, now being able to see the light switch as the book piles are way below it nowUse it up, wear it out

Evening
Despite planning a NSD today I bought some lemsip and some grapes. Covid test came back negative yesterday so thought lemsip might deal with my cough and cold. It hasn’t!
new week tomorrow.

Spent most of the day writing a letter to my dead brother's former girlfriend (we're talking gf 40 years ago) but mum kept in touch with her (sure she wasn't that keen when she was actually his gf - mum's scared of (awed by) teachers but even she thought this one was a bit thick.) After an emotionally draining day (Friday) and a physically draining day yesterday I just treated it as therapy and it's help get my head clear and start putting together this week's to do lists. The 'moron who upset me on Friday's sister phoned me last night and she was fine with me, thought everything I said was okay, unlike the entitled moron who thinks he can insist on doing what he likes and doesn't mind if he kills my brother, my son, my ex husband and my eldest cousin in the process.
Grateful for cousins, sons and nice people. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7
